"A space god tried to kill you?" Zelos asks. It's not at all what he actually meant to say, but defensive habits are tough to break. His mouth quirks in a half-smile. "Is that the same guy you were talking about when you said you forgave someone for trying to kill you?"

There's a story there, and Zelos wants to hear it. More than he wants to talk about himself, anyway. Pepper isn't making that anywhere near as fun as it usually is.
