It would be easy to make himself impossible to move, but Devin doesn't see much of a point in being obstinate. The casual contact is a bit odd, and if he weren't already essentially play-acting, it might cause him to hesitate. What does happen is the briefest flicker of surprise, there and gone again in an instant, before he allows himself to be led towards the kitchen.

If Fai is willing to teach a complete stranger, he must trust pretty easily, or at least be confident enough that his hand won't get bitten if he holds it out to someone new.
