Gene opened his mouth to argue before considering the rationale. It wasn't the same situation, but he'd taken on the guilt of not righting the wrong of his mother's murder, though Zhang had been the one responsible. He'd only put that back in balance of a sort within the past year, and it still didn't carry the sense of closure or triumph that he'd hoped it would.
