Leo really needed to watch what he said; he'd stuck his foot in his mouth and made light of something terrible, and he couldn't just apologize and pretend it never happen. Leo just bowed his head.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make light of your situation, though that's a poor excuse. I merely was glad that they were something I could help you out with. If that was your real family, I wouldn't have been able to do anything, no matter how much I wanted to." Leo stared at the ground, biting his lip.
