Characters: Annabeth
sophos & Eva
wroughtiron
Date: Today, a few hours after the Emperor's announcement.
Location: Near the turtle's head
Situation: Someone has a direct line to the mainland.
Warnings/Rating: n/a will edit as necessary
[It was over two months now since Annabeth had accepted the hourglass and told Eva she'd share information. Nothing had really come up to test whether she wanted to actually go through with it. Beyond the zombie invasion, but then she'd gotten wrapped up in the aftermath in combination with Percy and Leo arriving.]
[Then the Emperor makes the announcement and everything comes flying to the front. The history, the potential for Eva to get them home, what the woman wanted to hear. She thinks about going to Zatanna, to get her opinion, but decides against it. She hasn't done this yet, neither of them had, as far as she knew. What if she got caught? If she could leave Zatanna unconnected for now, she would. If anything happened, the other girl would still have the option to continue.]
[And with more clear concern for the sewer systems than anything else, how could the Emperor not be hiding something? Especially given the way she had been responding to people. Maybe Eva knew. There was no way Eshai or Evandau would say anything beyond "shut up and stay out," and there was no telling if anyone would actually be able to check it out for themselves.]
[She talks it over with Percy, and his agreement is enough to cement her decision (there's a part of her warning that maybe they're both being a little more reckless than usual, but she ignores it). She tells him where she's going and him alone. Makes him stay behind, as much as neither of them approve. At the turtle's head, making sure there's no one else around, Annabeth turns the hourglass over three times, and waits.]
