Emma is lost in thought as she walks through the Metal Sector. She'd come to explore, to see what is here. If she's been brought here to protect the kedan, it's best that she learns the lay of the land. But she hasn't allowed herself much time to truly process, and it creeps up on her now, and so she isn't paying the attention to her surroundings that she intended to.

It's been five days since she arrived in Keeliai, and three days since the snow event. Emma won't say that now she's used to life here, but she likes to think that she isn't as ignorant as she was that first day. She has thought back to that conversation, has traced over what she said over and over and over. Did she say something wrong? She thought she hadn't, but Logan's reaction... Maybe she had. Or maybe she hadn't. It's so difficult to tell with him, as ever, and suddenly the old familiar frustration and helplessness mounts in her.

It almost makes her laugh. She never thought that she would get... well. Perhaps that isn't true. It isn't that she "never thought she would get to" anything, but more that, ever since he began to... to change, she's been scared. Of so many things. She hasn't known what to do in regards to him. She hasn't known if things would, could, ever return to what they were. And, after she left the castle, she's been scared that she wouldn't have the chance to simply... talk with him again.

Maybe there's something to this in-between place after all, she finds herself thinking. If it's true that time back home has stopped, then, she... Then, perhaps it is a good thing that she's been brought here. Maybe she's a fool for hoping for the chance to reconnect with Logan, especially in the face of everything he's done and the person he seems to have become. But now that she knows about the Crawler, that Logan has seen it himself, there is... a hope in her. That maybe, just maybe, she can get her brother back. And if the two of them being in this place together allows her to have the time to talk to him again, then... then, maybe... It isn't so foolish to hope.

Which means she needs to hope that this meeting goes well. They'd agreed to come to a coffee shop in this sector, and at the tone of bells, Emma realizes that if she doesn't head that way now, she's going to be especially late. She berates herself for not paying attention to the time and she begins to hurry. Despite her rush, once she reaches the shop, she hesitates in front of it. She takes in a deep breath to steel herself, and then opens the door and heads inside.

Just as she thought, he's waiting there for her. She offers him a sheepish grin as she crosses to where he's sitting. "Sorry I'm late." She can't help but wonder if he expected her to be.
