Characters: CT and you!
Location: Outside the city, somewhere along the way to shell's edge
Situation: CT is still having trouble believing that this is actually a turtle. So she's going to go and see for herself.
Warnings/Rating: none so far!
Notes: I'm good with either action or prose, feel free to post either!
[She'd been working as much as she could ever since the woman on the network had told her about the motorcycles for rent, and that it was possible to drive to the edge of the shell - or what she claims is the edge of the shell. Honestly, CT's still half-expecting a coast, or maybe nothing at all - maybe she'll just keep driving and driving until she has to turn back to avoid running out of fuel.
Or maybe she won't turn back at all. It's not as if there's anything keeping her here.
However, her goal for the moment remains the turtle's edge, and once she's got enough juulan, the first thing she does is go and pick out a motorcycle, paying the rental fee and packing it up with water and some food just in case. She wears her armor, knives tucked safely away - it's safer that way if she meets someone, and it's better protection than any other gear if she gets in an accident on the bike, too.
With a last look around, a cursory glance for anyone watching her movements, CT swings her leg over the bike and takes off, heading for the edge of town.]

Today, B.A. decides it's time for a test drive of his recently paid-off bike. The city is too crowded to really ride, so he heads outside the city walls. He takes a simple set of tools with him, just in case he needs to do some repairs. The odds are pretty minimal, but it couldn't hurt to be prepared.
The armored rider is kind of hard to miss. B.A. can't tell if it's a Kedan or a foreigner, but he's never seen armor like that on the Kedan. After a moment of consideration, B.A. decides to follow the other rider for a while. If it is a Kedan, he wants to know who it is and what it's up to. If it's a foreigner, then there's no harm in riding as a pair, right? They're all fellows in the same boat-turtle, after all. B.A. isn't wearing a helmet, so the other rider will probably be able to tell he's human.]

It's about half an hour into the drive that she notices the other rider following her. He's not familiar. He's not York, and that's something, but he's not kedan either - another foreigner like her.
She keeps going for about twenty minutes, watching him in her mirrors without giving a sign that she'd noticed him, waiting to see what he'll do - maybe he'll turn off on a different path and leave her alone, maybe he'll speed up and try to overtake her.
He does neither, though, following along behind her at a steady pace, and eventually, CT has to do something. She waits until there's a big, clear open area, and hits the brakes, swinging the bike around in a wide arc until she's facing him, making sure to give him a wide berth in case his reaction time isn't as quick. A motorcycle pileup is not her goal here.
Intimidating him is.
She glares at him, still clutching the handlebars tight, and thanks to her voice modifier, the voice that comes out of her helmet is a male one.]
What do you want?
no subject
What's your problem? This road belong to you?
[So far, he's definitely inclined to think it's another foreigner. A Kedan hostile to foreigners wouldn't have bothered with talking to him, and an official would either ignore him or tell him to be on his way. Probably.]

[He doesn't look familiar, and she doesn't think the voice is one she's heard on the network, either. CT looks him over. He's a lot bigger than her, and he looks like he's more than able to take care of himself. She's got the armor, though, and her knives.
She lowers her helmet, ready for anything.]
I just don't like people following me without bothering to explain why.
no subject
[Despite the attitude, B.A. keeps his posture fairly relaxed and nonthreatening. That armor looks tough, and he'd rather not pick a fight with it over nothing.]
You going somewhere?
no subject
[...slight exaggeration. He seems to be keeping pretty calm, but she doesn't lower her guard at all, not yet.]
Why do you care?
no subject
[This back and forth doesn't appear to be going anywhere, so B.A. decides to give a little.]
There's been some pretty dangerous people running around here, causing trouble for everybody. You ain't one of those people, are you?
no subject
[It's a fairly clear path out of the city, but how many people actually choose to go out of the city?
She laughs, tilting her head at him.]
If I say no, will you believe me?

Are you threatening me?
no subject
If I was threatening you, you wouldn't need to ask.
[The conversation has actually been fairly professional by B.A. standards. Not for long, though.]
So how 'bout you give me an answer before I knock one out of your tin-can ass?
[He leans forward now, mirroring the rider's posture and tone.]
Now I'm threatening you.

I don't know who the hell you think you are, mister. But it's none of your goddamn business where I'm going.
So why don't you get the fuck out of here before I make you regret ever getting on that motorcycle today?
no subject
I just made it my business, and I sure as hell don't take orders from some punk in a robot suit.
[He braces himself for whatever comes next, getting ready to jump off the bike if the other rider makes the first move.]
no subject
[At least, not anymore.
Somehow this has gotten way out of hand, but there's no way she's going to back off now. CT jumps off her bike, immediately going into a defensive crouch. She knows she's vulnerable like this - there's nothing stopping the man from staying on his own motorcycle and driving straight at her. Her armor should keep her from getting too badly hurt, but it's still something she'd rather avoid.
She doesn't give any hint of fear, though, stalking towards him and ready to dive out of the way at the slightest movement.]
You have one more chance to walk away.

((OOC: Hey there - sorry for the delay. I don't know about you, but I kind of want to see where this fight would go, but I don't know anything about Spartan armor or capabilities, so maybe we could have a chat and find out how the fight would go? I'm on plurk (@daichu) and AIM (@ellopoppies), or we could just keep going here.))
GAME OVER
Thankfully, the other rider isn't interested in roughing him up too badly. The extent of the damage is bruises and wounded pride. They make sure B.A. is unable to follow, then take off on their bike. After taking a second to catch his breath, B.A. gets back on his bike and heads back to the city.

The fight is intense and nearly wordless, and over quickly. CT does just enough to ensure that she'll be left alone from here on out, and stands there, breathing hard and more upset than she'd expected to be as she watches him bend in half with the pain. When she's sure he's done, she gets on her motorcycle, and drives off without a look back.]
