The purple colour is starting to fade now, which frankly isn't something to complain about where stealth missions are concerned. Not that Skulduggery would have been complaining to begin with; he had a variety of multi-coloured cars in the world he came from, and he much preferred bizarre colouring to remain an issue with those cars instead of with his own skeleton.

Of course, a faded purple presence is still... well, faded purple. It accounts for at least half of the mood Skulduggery's in during the briefing.

There's an obvious leader among them almost right away, and Skulduggery's content to keep things that way - particularly since Solomon Wreath shadow-walks in not long after. Fortunately, there are others Skulduggery recognises and actually likes, Temeraire among them. He can work with Wreath. He'd just prefer not to if he was given the choice.

"I'll take another team," he offers. "Ideally, they shouldn't be aware of more than one front-door-breaking approach. It'll focus their attention there."
