Characters: Donatello (
i_speak_softly) and OPEN
Date: throughout the month of July
Location: mostly around the Metal and Water sectors
Situation: various
Warnings/Rating: none yet; subject to change
((The story so far: Donatello was having a reasonably nice life, then he was forced to move again and was given the "gift" of telepathy. For the past few weeks, he's been getting settled with these changes. Now things have quieted down to a new normal, so Don is out and about, taking care of lingering business and looking for new adventures, though preferably of the not-too-adventurous variety. PM me for plotting, or just tag in!))

Korra
He knocks lightly on the door, and waits, the bundle of gliders under his arm.

But no, just her in the shared living area right now.
Living with others is now officially weird. She opens the door to see "Donatello? Why didn't you use the w--
you have no idea which window's mine." But she smiles anyway and opens the door to let him in. "Are all of those...?" Korra immediately offers to help carry some of that bundle.
no subject
After they rearrange the bundles, he follows her inside. He hadn't been here yet, since Korra was happy to drop by his place to teach him about the gliders and check that her arrival no longer set off the alarms. This common area looks more or less like his own, complete with a row of hanging lanterns - three, he notes.
"Should I know which window is yours?" Do you invite EVERYONE to climb through your windows?
no subject
Cradling her own portion of the bundle, Korra draws one out and twirls it in one hand to test the weight and center of gravity.
"Well, not everyone, just-" Did she see Don's mouth open on that last part, or are her eyes playing tricks on her? "...my friends." She gives him a very curious look before she, unsurely, adds "Top right window." It was through the turtles that she actually started using windows instead of doors.
"You okay?"
no subject
"Ah - yes. Fine." He gestures to the glider. "How is it?"
no subject
Korra twirled it in one hand, then reversed it and checked to see if the wings popped out the way hers had. Sure enough they flapped open and even closed in the same manner.
"These are perfect! I know an airbender who is going to love this." She gave it one last flourish, even bustling a bit of air, and tucked it with the rest. "And they'll make great training staffs for the dojo too. Good craftmanship, I didn't think I'd find someone else who could make another one. Just how many cups of coffee do I owe you anyway?"
no subject
"No charge. For how much I'm going to enjoy using them, I should pay you."
no subject
She’d think of something, she usually did.

Don follows Korra into the other room. He doesn't say anything, but he thinks a little too hard.
I wonder what hidden talents she has? I don't really want to ask for anything... this is way too awkward already.
no subject
"What talents I have, or someone else?" She then looked to see if maybe Ava was in the living area too, but no. It was just them. Now she was feeling awkward, because that was definitely Donatello's voice she heard, but it didn't sound like he was speaking to her in particular...
no subject
"Korra, I..." He edges into a seat, trying to look non-threatening. "I had a strange dream and now I'm psychic. I can't control it very well yet. I'm very sorry for anything you might overhear; there's no excuse for me to be thinking those things at all."
no subject
After Korra realized that she was staring at Donatello as though he had just proclaimed an engagement to Naga, she she hook her head to try and clear it. "Wait, so you're talking with your mind?" Then she paused and carefully asked "Does that mean you can overhear things from me?"
Strange dreams could have consequences, Korra remembered the ones that were strikingly real and doubted Don was making that part up.

Michelangelo is not a turtle spirit.
no subject
Just a spirited turtle.

"You can't hurt anyone with it, can you?"
no subject
"I don't want to hurt anyone with it."
no subject
"I don't want you to either. But you've been able to not do that so far, right?" She was already trying to think of someone who might know more about this kind of thing.
no subject
"No."
no subject
"...who?"
no subject
Don bites his lip before answering. He wouldn't normally give away this kind of information, but Korra seems to know so much about his family already...
"Raph," he admits. "His mind is... There's something different about it. Psychic contact hurts him. I - hadn't known that." He looks up, worry in his eyes. "Please don't let him know I told you this."
no subject
"O-kay." She tried to not sound unsure, but it wasn't really in her. "What happens when you accidentally think around him, I mean, what's different?"
no subject
That's the best he can explain it. Raph either can't, or won't, tell him what it really feels like.
no subject
