LANDFALL | TAVIMBI | MARCH MINGLE LOG
Characters: ALL!
Date: March 1 - 31
Location: City of Hatal, Tavimbi
Situation: Tu Vishan is still anchored just off the coastline of Tavimbi, and the city of Hatal continues to welcome kedan and Foreigners alike.
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.

( click for full size )
The Tavimbians continue to be welcoming to their guests, and while Foreigners are still required to carry their issued pass stamps while in Hatal, they are starting to become recognized. The stamps are made of a brassy metal, a little larger than a credit card, and inscribed with their information, their date of arrival, and whether they've had any run-ins with the laws in Tavimbi (it will be stamped accordingly by the authorities if such happens.)
OOC: There are starters in the comments for various areas of Hatal, or you can use the rest of the post for anything on Tavimbi which doesn't fit under those headings. All city descriptions, as well as NPC contacts for threading, can be found in the Tavimbi OOC post, which is currently stickied in the OOC comm.
Be sure to also check the March Itinerary for up to date happenings in Hatal, and to tag this entry with your character tag when you join in.

He was also trying his best to avoid Obi-Wan while he was helping clear rubble out. Kylo had learned from their first conversation that he didn't want much to do with the man and was going out of his way to not be around him unless he actually had to, but avoidance only lasted so long when he was actually not in an area the size of a gigantic turtle and when the opportunity presented itself, Kylo brushed past him when he was sure he wasn't in the middle of moving rubble around.

"Thank you for your help Kylo, it's most appreciated."
Even though they had started things off a bit rocky, Obi-Wan was going to be civil unless he was given a reason to do otherwise.
no subject
"Isn't that what you Jedi say we're supposed to do, use the Force to help others? I'm only doing what is wanted of me."
Not to mention that Kylo had reasons for being here, even if he wasn't the type of person to run in to help others.
no subject
"If you were a Jedi, you would know that we have a desire to help others, not because it's something we simply must do or require of anyone else. The spirit of a Jedi is put others before one's self. My call was a request, nothing more. I would not presume to make it mandatory simply because you are able to use the Force."
If you don't want to be here Kylo, Obi-Wan isn't going to sit on you and make you stay. Or drag you back if you try to leave. He was only expressing his gratitude.
no subject
"I'm not a Jedi and haven't been for a long time, but you sound like my former Master. Or, which is likely the case, he sounds like you," he said without any strain in his voice as he moved more rubble and rocks away to be loaded off. "I have my own reasons for being here and they might not be as selfless and honorable as what the Jedi Code demands of you, but it doesn't matter as long as I'm helping out."
no subject
"I see, well you have my gratitude regardless." Nope he wasn't arguing about the help at all. Whatever Kylo's motives may be.
"If I may ask, who was your Master?"
no subject
"You're always welcome to call upon me in the future, if you need any assistance from me," Kylo said easily enough. He'll help if he has to. It wouldn't do him any good to alienate everyone around him when he had no allies to back him up.
Moving a decent sized rock to where Kylo stood, he pushed his hood back and sat down on the stone, looking far too long and gangly to fit on it properly despite the fact that he picked one about the size of a chair. "My Master was Luke Skywalker."
no subject
Yes, the fact that he's not a Sith is definitely a plus. Obi-Wan got an odd feeling about this man, he really wasn't sure what to make of him. But as long as things were not hostile or threatening, he could tolerate his presence and be civil.
Though when he answers that last question, Obi-Wan looks at him with clear shock on his face.
"Luke Skywalker?" he repeats in disbelief.
no subject
"Yes, Luke Skywalker. He grows up to become a Jedi Master." There's a pause as he goes over Obi-Wan's reaction. This timeline stuff really was going to get confusing if he thought on it too much. "Have the twins been born yet as far as you're concerned? I'm afraid I don't really know much about that time period."
no subject
"Yes. I had just arrived with Luke on Tatooine before coming here," he replied.
no subject
"He would speak highly of you, old Ben who set him on the path to be a Jedi." For all of his thoughts on his uncle and his training as a whole, Kylo wasn't going to turn this toward the negative. There was no reason to, not right now. "I didn't lie before, when I spoke to you previously. He did return to the Light."
no subject
The confession though drew a pause. Obi-Wan certainly did not sense any dishonesty or deception from Kylo Ren. So he could only assume he was indeed telling the truth.
"Why are you telling me this?"
Even though it brought him some comfort, he still didn't understand why Kylo Ren would need to share it with him.
no subject
"I'm telling you because the Anakin Skywalker that's here has yet to become Darth Vader," he started, thinking about how odd it was to make such a distinction like that with a man he'd only thought of without that split. "If you see him as to who he will become, it would be prudent to have the whole picture, wouldn't it?"
no subject
There is a pause though as a thought hits Obi-Wan, one that's very important.
"And what do you intend to tell Anakin?"
no subject
"What do you think I would tell him? That his wife dies, he has two children who he believes are dead until they're adults and even then are his enemies?" He shakes his head and looks over at the Jedi. It's obvious that the man wants to protect Anakin, but at what cost? "I'll leave those for you to tell him if you so wish, Master Kenobi. I've already said that I wasn't going to influence him into going on way or the other."
no subject
"I do appreciate that."
And really, he did. This was a pretty delicate situation, but it also meant that he needed to act. Before someone else did, either intentionally or not.
