'Cause I found what I was missing
Characters: Frank Zhang and OPEN
Date: A day or two after his intro
Location: On the way to the turtle's head
Situation: Frank practicing archery and shapeshifting a bit (with different threads), because it's been a while and it's a good way to get his head to stop spinning after so much information dumped on him.
Warnings/Rating: None, will add if needed
Frank Zhang didn't consider himself useless, despite what others might say about his self esteem. He simply knew what he was good at, and the things he... wasn't. There was nothing bad in being realistic about your own abilities, or so he kept telling himself.
And he was aware that this was way beyond him. Being somehow 'teleported' into this world- if not outright cloned- when everything was in chaos, the war that they were supposed to be fighting against an enemy so powerful they couldn't even pronounce their name, the way his friends had reacted to the arrival of a demigod he hadn't even heard about, the fact that he could maybe never get back home...
'Beyond him' was putting it lightly. He had never felt more like a burden to his friends, more unable to do anything to help them out. So he did what he did best in this kind of situations.
Train his abilities until he could become useful. He was the son of Mars, and as much as that had made him feel awkward it was who he was. And a son of Mars never ran from a battle.

The teen offered a shrug, deflecting as best he could how he felt about it. Rather than drag the conversation though, he was quick to add, "But I got a few believers, so it'll be different when I get back! What does Bunny say... no worries!"
no subject
I guess when you've seen that, you believe in everything." And another pause... "Wait, Bunny?"
no subject
A quirked smile at the addendum. "Mhm. He was here, but he's gone back home now. And yes, another 'as in, you know...'"
no subject
Soooo in, you know- another spirit? What kind of spirit is a bunny?" Wait until he gets it...
no subject
"Big ears, poof tail, c'mon..."
no subject
"Easter!" He hits his forehead with the palm of his hand, laughing because man that was so obvious. And then he looks up at Jack again, eyes wide. "Wait, Easter. The Easter bunny was here?"
no subject
"Yeah, he was for a few months -- in time for Easter here, in fact! He gave everyone baskets of chocolate, just like at home. But he was sent back a few weeks ago."
no subject
"Was there an egg hunt?"
no subject
no subject
"Well, it's sad I didn't mean get to meet him but it's an honor to meet you, Jack. Big fan of your, uh, work. I'm Canadian so I know about snow."

And then he looks up at him, eyebrow raised. "Unless you'd like to learn?"

"As long as you don't freeze the bow, why not? You can tense it as well as I do, and aim just takes practice."

"Then be my guest."
no subject
"Okay, so... where should I stand..."
