'Cause I found what I was missing

Date: A day or two after his intro
Location: On the way to the turtle's head
Situation: Frank practicing archery and shapeshifting a bit (with different threads), because it's been a while and it's a good way to get his head to stop spinning after so much information dumped on him.

Frank Zhang didn't consider himself useless, despite what others might say about his self esteem. He simply knew what he was good at, and the things he... wasn't. There was nothing bad in being realistic about your own abilities, or so he kept telling himself. 

And he was aware that this was way beyond him. Being somehow 'teleported' into this world- if not outright cloned- when everything was in chaos, the war that they were supposed to be fighting against an enemy so powerful they couldn't even pronounce their name, the way his friends had reacted to the arrival of a demigod he hadn't even heard about, the fact that he could maybe never get back home... 

'Beyond him' was putting it lightly. He had never felt more like a burden to his friends, more unable to do anything to help them out. So he did what he did best in this kind of situations.

Train his abilities until he could become useful. He was the son of Mars, and as much as that had made him feel awkward it was who he was. And a son of Mars never ran from a battle.

"'You Only Live Once'. Come on man, keep up with the times." Stop being such a tryhard, Leo.

But he is impressed, admittedly, at Frank's shape-shifting powers—it's not like he's going to actually say that out loud, though, and picking on him is so much easier to do.

Sometimes he can be civil, though, and he chooses to be exactly that at the next question. "Grow tired? How long have you been practicing, anyway?"

An amused snort he tries to hide because Leo isn't at all funny, specially not when he's making fun of Frank. So he ignores that statement and focuses on the question.

"I don't know, I don't have a clock with me. A little more than an hour?"

Leo actually looks a little bit thoughtful at that. He tries to imagine himself holding up his flame powers for that long—but that's not really comparable, isn't it? Frank's power is, admittedly, pretty cool, and Leo's is what a lot of people would call dangerous. Destructive.

So he shrugs. "Not bad."

And just because he can't help it: "You can probably do better." A smirk, but maybe he's trying to be supportive too, just a little?

And his lips twitch upward yet again, despite himself. People are usually just so taken by surprise about his powers that none of them think about the possibilities of pushing himself beyond that.

"It's not like there's a training method for a power like this."

He'll just sigh exasperatedly now okay? Mostly just to annoy Frank.

"Really, you Romans got legions and everything and you can't think of a training method?" That's it that's what he knows about Romans. Legions and Praetors and that statue guy named Termite or whatever.

And annoy him it does, but he tries hard to pretend it doesn't. Mature demigods doing mature things.

"We have a lot of training methods for the usual demigods and legacy abilities. Usual being the keyword. Or did the Greek camp have a contingency training for you being able to set yourself on fire?"
