[Miles had been happy to be without his powers at first, but as time went on he found himself missing the feeling of swinging through the city on a web, helping people and stopping crimes. So when the powers come back on, he dons the suit and heads out.]

I'm, er... your friendly neighborhood Blue Beetle?

[Wow, banter still sucks.] I didn't know anyone else was patrolling around here. I've never seen you around before.

[Though, to be fair, this IS his first time patrolling this part of Keeliai.]

Just getting back out, now that powers are back on.

[He gives BB a surveying look.]

So what universe are you from? One with the Avengers, or those Justice League people, or some other one? 'Cause I've sure never heard of you.

[escarabajo]

The Justice League one. Though I'm not part of the League itself. [Being a Titan's different!]

I'm guessing you're from the other one, right? The Avengers one?

[spiderkid]

Not quite. One I'm from has the Ultimates, but from what I can tell they're basically the same as the Avengers.

[escarabajo]

Oh. [Now doesn't he feel silly for assuming.] Well, a team's a team and a hero's a hero, no matter the name, right? You wanna patrol together, since we're both here already?

[spiderkid]

Sure, might as well. [He looks out over the city.] You been around long?

[escarabajo]

Um... A month. Ish.

[He settles in, sitting down with his feet dangling over the rooftop they're standing on.]

Long enough to know crime's the same everywhere, anyways.

[spiderkid]

[Miles crouches, the way Spider-men traditionally crouch.]

Same. Every city's got crime, you just gotta know where to look.

[escarabajo]

[Jaime nods.] You said it. I heard there's a lot of trouble in this sector: back home, there was also a lot of--

Hang on. [Thank goodness for night vision.] You see those guys there? In the alley?

[spiderkid]

What alley, that one? [Miles doesn't have night vision, but he sees some sort of scuffle.] Yeah, I see it. Wanna check it out?

[escarabajo]

Yep. Time to get work.

[Jaime carefully flies down, staying close to Miles-- a scuffle it is, with about three large kedan cornering a smaller one. Luckily, they haven't noticed the two of them with how dark it is: but the smaller guy getting robbed has. By the look on his face, he might even be more scared than he was before.]

You can take the opening line. [he says, turning to Miles with a sheepish expression.] I'm not... super great at them.

[spiderkid]

[Gee, thanks. Put him on the spot, why don't you?]

I'd tell you to pick on someone your own size, but I'm a little short for that. Still, we'll have to do.

[The kedan thugs turn, caught by surprise, but are more than happy to abandon their quarry for a good fight.]

[escarabajo]

Yeah, uh-- that!

[Not like Jaime had any better ideas. The first thug charges, pulling a knife on them: Jaime works quickly, ducking out of the way of the blade and knocking it out of his hands easily. (Gotta thank Peacemaker for that training.) The other one makes a beeline for Miles, aiming for the smaller target.]

Spider-man, watch it!

[spiderkid]

[Miles' warning senses alert him to the attack, so he waits 'til the guy's almost upon him before jumping up and over him, causing the kedan to run headlong into the alley wall. When Miles lands, he shoots web to stick the guy to the wall, then turns to check on how Blue Beetle's handling things.]

[escarabajo]

[It doesn't take Beetle too long to knock out his own guy: the Scarab's a little unfairly matched against ordinary thugs, after all. A well-placed jab to a pressure point on the kedan's body has him crumpling to the floor, still conscious but definitely not getting up anytime soon.]

Well, that wasn't too bad.

[spiderkid]

[Miles' kedan thug keeps shouting complaints at him, so Miles shoots a small bit of web to cover his mouth, then turns to Blue Beetle.]

Not too shabby. Up top! [C'mon man, don't leave him hanging!]

[escarabajo]

[Oh, he'd never. High five!] Nice!

Okay, the coast is clear, [he says, turning to the kedan they'd saved,] and you're free to--

[In the midst of the scuffle, the fearful kedan had up and left. Oops.]

Annnd he's gone. Well, at least he's safe, I guess.

Close enough. Thanks for the team-up. We work pretty well together, huh?

Nothing got blown up and no one got kidnapped by aliens. "Pretty well" about covers it, yeah.
