[He'd decided to take Korra's advice when she suggested he reach out to Stark Industries or Wayne Industries. As much as he didn't mind ad libbing jobs, he vastly preferred something steadier, if they had the sort of work that he could do. She gave him Pepper Pott's name, and he'd managed to contact her.

And there he was, standing outside the building-- itself impressive- checking to make sure he wasn't late.

After that brief check, he walked into the building, speaking to the first person he could find]

I'm looking for Ms. Potts?

[Pepper was making her way into the lobby when she spotted Mako. She let him contact the secretary and be given directions to her office before she made her way over and offered her hand.]

Mako, I'm Pepper Potts, the acting CEO of Stark Industries.

[he took her hand to shake it, nodding a bit. It was kind of like meeting Hiroshi for the first time, before he knew where his sympathies were]

Nice to meet you. This place is seriously impressive already.

We aim to impress.

[She says it with a slightly teasing smile before gesturing to her office.]

Shall we start the interview then?

[he nodded as she gestured to her office, making his way towards there. If not for having done business with Hiroshi before everything exploded, he would have felt a little over his head. And while the feeling was still there to some extent, he could manage it a lot better.]

Absolutely.

[he waited for her to sit before sitting, himself]

[She looks over the information her people have been able to gather about the boy. He doesn't have much in the way of the creative spark that they look for in the people they higher, but his ability could be very useful, not to mention that he could still be used to gather materials.]

Do you know what we do at Stark Industries Mako?

[browbeater]

[he could take a guess... It wasn't like he hadn't seen this type of thing before]

Not... specifically. But if I had to guess, technological research and development. This place kind of reminds me of Future Industries back home.

[Pepper frowns. Research and development was a good assumption, but really, there's a bit more to Stark Industries then just that; besides, they don't just research and develop anything.]

I'm afraid I haven't been informed about that company. Would you care to explain?

[browbeater]

It's mostly known for transportation, things like the satomobile and the gondola, and a few other electronics.

[he was leaving out Hiroshi's obsession for creating weapons, because as far as he was concerned, that had nothing to do with Future Industries proper, and he had a feeling Asami wouldn't want someone to get the opinion that her company was a weapons maker.]
