Characters: Tommy Shepherd and Billy Kaplan
Date: backdated to when Billy arrived (21st)
Location: Metal Sector, outside the housing.
Situation: Billy is here and wants to see Tommy. Tommy is a little more reluctant.
Warnings/Rating: Probably a bit of swearing? But mostly safe!

[It's been almost a year since he last saw his brother, and yet, Tommy still can't shake the pit slowly forming in his stomach. He's standing outside the metal housing, arms crossed over his chest, awaiting the familiar blue glow to flood the area that would signal the arrival of his brother.

He was from before everything happened. Before Doctor Doom, before Wanda. Before Cassie. Somehow Tommy really didn't want to be the one to break the news to him, not when he didn't now how Billy would take it. Actually, he did know. He's already lived through Billy shutting down, staring out of windows, barely eating. And it was exhausting enough the first time.

And who even knew how long he'd be here? Tommy might just get left behind in a month. Like before.

He shuffles his feet on the ground, worrying his lower lip as he switches his hands to into his pockets. Maybe Billy would focus on what happened here than before this. He could probably swing that. He'd be lying if he said that he hadn't missed him.]

[Easiest spell he ever cast: IwanttobewhereTommyisIwanttobewhereTommyisIwanttobewhereTommyis-- and then he's there in a flash of blue light.

Billy was worried, though. Extremely worried. Because Tommy... well, Tommy knew the future. He wasn't scared of his brother, not even a little. But the knowledge that he had? Really did terrify him. He's already debated with himself, before he asked to meet with him, if he really wanted to know, or would he be okay with not knowing.

It's weird. Tommy hasn't seen him in a long time, but Billy just talked to him, right before he arrived here. They weren't strangers to time traveling, but it just. It wasn't right.

It wasn't fair.]

Hey! [Billy grinned when he got there. He was really happy to see him, though.]

[And there it was--the familiar blue light he'd been waiting for. He ignores the butterflies in his stomach and watches it manifest until the full form of Billy pops into view. It's almost a relief, seeing that he's actually here, and it's nearly his Billy, if not for some timing issues. His before everything went down. Which was so much easier to deal with.

He smiles--something more genuine than he has done since Billy's arrival--and crosses the short distance to where he is, pretending that the butterflies still swirling around in his stomach aren't there.]

Hey. What took you so long, slow poke?

Not all of us can travel the world in 80 milliseconds. [It's a weak retort, though, and his hearts not really into that one. Instead, he's grinning, beaming at him. Maybe he couldn't have Teddy here, but at least he'd have someone he liked.

Most of the time.] I feel like I just saw you a second ago, but I'm really happy to see you! What have you been doing here, what... what's going on, here, besides that whole speech I got before getting on that cart?

[He snorts a little, rubbing the back of his head.]

Been way longer than that for me. [There is a touch of happiness behind his words. It might not be his Billy specifically, but it's a Billy. Billy. He hadn't realised how much he'd missed him.]

Trying not to go crazy? [He laughs a bit.] Uh, superheroing mostly? When I have my powers. Just, y'know. Living. The Emperor's not exactly keen on letting us know why we're here other than to 'save the turtles'.

[He nods. It's weird still, to know that there's this whole... time, that Tommy was here. Without anyone (for some points, anyway). Billy wasn't sure how he'd gone through it, because if he'd been here for that long without anyone from home, he would be pretty down about it.

Yeah. Pretty down. He wants to say he's sorry, but...] Better late then never?

[He smiles.] Yeah, I only got the whole saving the turtles part, but... no idea why or how we're supposed to do that? [He frowns.]

Do they take powers away here a lot?

[He's had his moments. But he's also had a plethora of friends to help him. All of which are no longer here either. His life sucks a bit. But at least he has Rikki still.]

No kidding. [He gives Billy a weak laugh and shoves his arm playfully.]

You're the one with the magic powers, dude, you figure it out. [he shrugs, shoving his hands into his pockets.]

Sorta. I was without mine for like a few weeks I guess. The rationing was worse.

[He really needs to be told about Rikki, okay, because people keep mentioning her, and he needs to meet her, too. To see her for himself and all that.

Billy made a face. He'd never been good at the shoving people back thing. That was Teddy's thing.] Well, I'm glad I'm here now. Glad in that... way that I'm here for you, not glad that I'm here, here.

[Though he has to give a shrug in return, rubbing the back of his neck.] I don't know, either. It's not like I can wish for that kind of stuff.

Food rationing? What was that for?

[Billy probably needs to be told about Wanda too. But baby steps.

He smiles a bit.] Dude, it's not like I've been in a room on my own. Molly's here. Y'know, the kids from California? And Nomad too. There's a whole bunch of people from our universe here. Which I'm never gonna get used to saying.

Can't you just like, wish us all home or something? I thought you were supposed to be all powerful, universe breaking magic guy?

[he pauses. Tommy has regained all the weight he lost over the period of the rationing, so Billy wouldn't be able to tell just how bad it was.]

The turtle was sick, so everyone was given a list for a week. But everyone got the same list, which is like, stuff I eat in a day. It really sucked. If Rikki and Molly didn't give me some of their food, I dunno what I woulda done.

[That startles him, but he smiles.] Molly, really? I remember her, she's probably having a blast with her big brother here. [He teases gently. There had been some good parts to that whole ordeal. He didn't want to think of the Cube right now.]

Nomad, too? [He doesn't know who's who, with that one, but still.] I've talked to a lot of people from our universe, but also from alternate ones like ours. It's pretty... nuts, to meet everyone like this, in one place.

[Like the two Buckys he's talked to. It's weird.] I don't know about that. I've tried wishing, but it just doesn't work. It's not... it works for everything else, you know? I could get here fine. But trying to leave, it just doesn't work. [Which was very worrisome.

Just as much as the rationing. That wasn't enough to feed a speedster.] That's good. You have a bunch of people who care about you here, it can't be all bad, right? [Because he wasn't, and he feels bad that he wasn't. There wasn't anything he could do then, was there? Maybe wished up multiples... no, he couldn't help not being there.]

Who's Rikki?

[Tommy snorts at the big brother comment, unable to stop himself from smiling. He's glad she does have someone in this place. Being alone, not that great, especially for a twelve year old.]

Yeah, I know. [he pauses, rolling forward on his feet.] There's a alternate version of Wanda here. She's like, in her twenties. [And theres that can opened.]

Rikki? She's uh. [He rubs the back of his neck.] Nomad. Y'know, the girl we teamed up with a while back? Goggles, redhead. C'mon nerd boy, this stuff is your thing.

[He gives Billy a smile.] We're kinda. A thing here.

[Wait, what. Hold up on all of those things, because his brain can't process all of this information right now. Wanda is here? Rikki is Nomad? Tommy is dating someone?

He's pretty sure that his brain can't actually implode on itself or anything, but he's definitely... give him a minute to process all of that.]

Couldn't you have just talked fast instead of hitting me with all of this at once? [Okay, he's joking on that. It's easy to see he's joking, because he needs to say something as he's still processing.]

...I have no idea where to start. [He grins.] I guess... congrats? I think something happened, maybe I just, whited out or something, I didn't know that Nomad is Rikki. Or vice-versa. But that's great.

[Okay, two down, one to go.] So... explain about Wanda?

[Tommy rolls his eyes a little.]

Yeesh, it's not like we're like you and Skrull-boy. We're not sickening. [he's got a small smile though. A fond one. Or maybe he's just thinking about Rikki's boobs.]

She's stuck here same as us but she's from another universe where she never had kids. Or at least not yet. Not much to explain.

[He pauses.] So you gotta cool your jets before you go contacting her, okay? I don't want your nerdboy magic to scare her off.

I think that's for me to decide! You can't decide if you're not sickening or not. [Eugh, don't ever tell him that. Or think that around him. Ever. Don't do it. That's gross.]

Okay. That's not too bad, right? But she knows now? Or that some other Wanda has kids, because you told her and everything, right? [Tommy wasn't even sure on this, back home, so.]

...So give it a day, or two days, or...? [Why does he have to wait now!?]

Too bad, I already did. We're not. You are. Get over it.

[He gives Billy a small smile before sighing as he focused on Wanda again. He can't blame him. Tommy hadn't exactly left her alone when she arrived. Or anyone who threatened her either. And of course, this Tommy was so much more sure than the Tommy that Billy knew.]

Yeah, I told her. Just gimme some time to let her know you're here too? She was a bit freaked out when y'know. She saw me.

I'm still going to make a decision whether you like it or not! It's in my rights as your brother. [But onto the more important thing on hand. which is Wanda. But not the same Wanda.

Its just a little odd.] Okay. I guess I would be, too, if I was in her position. Freaked out. Does she look like Wanda, though? Like, our Wanda? What's the difference?

But I'm older, so I know better. [he knows that's probably not gonna fly but whatever. There's more important matters than how cute he is with Rikki.]

Yeah, if some kid walks up to you and says 'hey guess what! I'm your son from an alternate dimension!' I'd be pretty werided out too. [he pauses for a moment.]

Just younger. Her hair is different too but it's definitely her.

[They're so not sure about that age thing, okay, it could go either way, and besides, when does being older mean anything? Billy has two younger brothers, they don't really think he knows better just because he's older!

But right, yes, not the time for that argument. Not the time. Because now Billy is imagining this. Some kid comes up to him pretty randomly and says he's his son? That's really. Billy has to shudder at that image.]

Yeah, I'll give her some time. [Yeah.] ...How is her world different from ours? Have you talked about it at all with her?

[Tommy will be forever convinced he's the eldest. Being older just makes you better, end of.

To the universe thing, Tommy just gives a sheepish shrug.]

She doesn't really mention it. Mostly wants to know about us.

So she wants to know about us, and we want to know about her, but we don't get to know anything about her universe? I guess I have a lot of questions for her, now, when I finally meet her!

[Because, well, yeah. He wants to know more about her!]

[Tommy sheepishly rubs the back of his head.]

I kinda. Didn't really ask. [He's had a stressful couple of weeks.]

But hey, forget about that for now. [HE WANTS TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU OK.] Where're you living?

[He can forget for awhile! It's just good to see someone important to him in a place like this. He thought he'd be alone, to be honest. It had scared him.]

I'm in the Fire District! It's great, I've got two floors, it's bigger then our place back in New York. Where are you living?

[He throws a hand behind him to the building in the middle of the Metal sector that they are standing in front of.]

In there. Living with Rikki and Molly right now. We used to have a sort of. Young Avengers hideout when the other guys were here, but it kinda got depressing after everyone left.

[That makes Billy smile. Tommy living with two girls, no, two other people. Things must have been pretty bad for him to want to be around two other people a lot... that stopped the smile pretty quickly.]

Do you have a big space for all three of you? [Just a general question, honestly. But he tilts his head slightly, thinking about that. A hide out. Huh.] Do you still have it, and just don't use it?

Enough. The clubhouse was better, cause you changed it with your magic. [He gives a small shrug, rocking on his heels.] This place is Rikki's. I stayed over and then... never left?

[He laughs a little.]

Uh, I think so? Unless the kedan gave it to someone else.

I could see that. [It was a little unnerving to hear about how he was here before and all that, but. Yeah, if the place wasn't that great, of course he'd change it as soon as possible. He'd turned a sort of jail into a hotel room, it happened.]

I want to see it at some point. [And then he gives a bigger grin.] The clubhouse and the apartment you live in with your girlfriend.
