"We've been together since then. We grew up together... well, me more than you." Sure, he still grew, he still got older... but he aged differently than she did. Hellboy aged differently than everyone. But with Liz, Hellboy has almost always been a constant presence in her life. From a when she was a little girl until now, and yes, he would sometimes disappear, but he always came back somehow.

"Anyway, we've always been in each other's lives. We've fought together, we've lost together, we've done all sorts of things. Maybe us being here is a coincidence, maybe it's not. But I know we've seen the worst and we've fought the worst - whatever this place decides to throw our way, I'm pretty damn sure we can handle it."

Or at least she hopes they can. But right now isn't the time for uncertainty.
