I don't think the League is as festive as you guys. We might throw a party now and then, but nothing that extravagant. But speedsters? Plural? How does your world even have food anymore?

[imaginate]

Plural. Not just the Flashes, I think there's a few others, but I don't know them personally.

[He shrugs.]

Sounds like the League's a lot newer in your day, and you've got less groups. It's usually an inter-team thing.

[wingedwarrior]

How many do you have? [It sounds like there's a small army.]

They recruited a lot more members about five years after the first seven of us formed it. It's been... probably a few years by now. Look, I'm just not that social with a lot of the League, they might throw a ton of parties I don't know about.

[imaginate]

Uhh. There's the JSA, the League, the Titans, or Teen Titans, sometimes... Young Justice? A few others? I don't know everybody.

[Shakes his head.]

The League's been around since I was a kid.

[wingedwarrior]

Justice League where I'm from. It's been around for less than ten years, probably. [She sighs.] Way too many different universes for my tastes.

[imaginate]

There's over fifty, actually.

[He taps the plate thoughtfully.]

I'm either not a Lantern, or not yet, in the others here.

[She knows what that means, and he's finally glad he doesn't have to explain it.]

[wingedwarrior]

Yeah, I remember you told me that when I first got here. Fifty-two of them, if I recall. [There's a pause on her end, tapping a finger on the table.] I'm glad I met this version of you.

[imaginate]

Me too. The Hawk.. people back home are really different.

[wingedwarrior]

No kidding. Sounds like the me from Dinah's universe is married to my stalker. [... oops.]

[imaginate]

[A long pause.]

That Carter guy?

[wingedwarrior]

That's the one. Carter Hall. Goes by Hawkman.

[imaginate]

[A little too cheerfully:] I get to punch him, right?

[wingedwarrior]

No, don't-- [DEAR GOD, SHE HATES THIS STORY. She rubs her hand over her face and sighs, wondering how to go about this.] It wasn't exactly... his fault. He thought we were reincarnated lovers. [Still sounds crazy, yep.]

[imaginate]

[He levels the spoon at her.]

Hey, reincarnated lovers or not, that's no excuse to stalk somebody. And I mean, no excuse to stalk them if you're not Batman or something. At least he has quote-unquote reasons.

[wingedwarrior]

Look, I know, okay? It was a bad relationship decisions. John and Batman already gave me the "I told you sos". [That fucking Absorbicron.] It was just. A big complicated mess.

[imaginate]

Yeah well - how come nobody told him so?

[Getting a bit irate.]

Stalking. Dude. Not cool.

[wingedwarrior]

Don't worry, I leveled with him. He's leaving John and me to figure out our whole [She vaguely gestures with her hands.] thing. We only went on a date once, and he had Thanagarian artifacts. I couldn't really say no. [Except that led to a bed and. Yeah.]

[imaginate]

[He settles.]

S'long as he's not doing it again, jeez.

[Beat.]

Speaking of punches, John needs one too.

[wingedwarrior]

He's not, I promise. [She waves her hand in a "go on" gesture.] Feel free to give him all the punches you want. Just don't bruise his face too much. It's a nice face, even with the beard.

[imaginate]

Beard.

[He snickers.]

I'd probably hate it. Anyway, I don't really go for the face.

[wingedwarrior]

It's a terrible look on him, really. [She grins, remembering all the times she made a jab at it.] He better not punch back, though, he deserves a few hits.

[imaginate]

[He smiles at her.]

Don't be too hard on him okay? He's an idiot, but he's still like a brother to me.

[wingedwarrior]

I couldn't be too hard on him if I tried. [Okay, that's a lie, we all know she could.] He's still the idiot I love, despite all his flaws.

[imaginate]

[Fondly:] Yeah.

[Quietly:] I miss him, you know. I miss all of them, and I try not to think about it because if I do, I'll go crazy.

[wingedwarrior]

I know. I miss my family, too. [Not just John, but everyone else in the League. Hell, even Mari. Wrapping an arm around his shoulders, she pulls him in close.] We'll just have to make sure the other doesn't go crazy from homesickness.
