This is a party. Kara had the idea and Nita managed the execution. With some Green Lantern help (the universe's most powerful weapon? great for transporting buffet tables and tiki torches) a section of "beach" has been set up with snacks, a surprisingly good bar, deck chairs, and various pool toys--where Nita came by an inflatable horsey ring is anyone's guess.

As it gets closer to evening, the grill is lit and heartier foods are available, though the selection runs rather heavily to fish, since the ocean is right there and nothing can outswim either of your hostesses. That said, you owe it to yourself to try the grilled pineapple.

Anyway, you know what to do.

[Putting both of her arms out, Korra spins in the water and a tall, whirling water spout rose up with her on top of it. Some of the water toys were sucked up into it. Foam noodles, water guns, and a rubber duck inner tube.

A flying Atlantean and an Avatar grabs Naga’s attention enough so that she barking while making small waves with her dog paddling down below.]

What’s the difference between an Atlantean and an Atlantean warrior? [While it may have sounded like a joke set-up if it had been anyone else, Korra was honestly curious. Though it also serves as a nice distraction as the water moves the noodles so they’re pointed at Nita like foam cannons and the water gun start getting filled up.]

All Atlanteans are warriors. Some are just better at it than others.

[Atlanteans are first-series Fire Nation levels of douchebag most of the time. Knowing Nita and only Nita will give you entirely the wrong impression about her culture.

She flicks some water off her fingers down at Naga who can't join the party, then gets a smug look.]

You realize hitting me with water is like hitting Superman with sunlight, right?

[Since Nita’s the only Atlantean Korra knows at the moment, that means wrong impressions are utterly believable and sound.

But now for the question that needs the right answer to wipe the confusion off her face.]

Who’s Superman?

Superman is an alien from the planet Krypton. The sun on his homeworld is red, so he get powers from being under a yellow sun.

[See? Simple. And also not from Nita's universe, but she hangs around with Superboy and Supergirl a lot so she's picked up some stuff.]

He's cool.

[Superman is the opposite of cool, but Nita likes earnest boy scout types, even if she tends to date losers.]

Krypton. [A ton of crypts?] Sounds a little grave actually. [But he’s cool by Nita, so he’s okay.

She’s not even going to try asking about different colored suns, let alone the fact that there’s more than one.]

So he’s like a firebender and his powers rise with the sun. [Powers from the sun means it must be fire. Perfect sense.]

[And then Nita opened the door to having to try to explain the periodic table.]

I think he can store it up. Like a battery.

[Do they have those in Avatarland? They have cars, right? She remembers something about cars.

Nita has totally forgotten they were roughhousing 10 seconds ago.]

[One Spider-Man tried to tell her about there being more than four elements and Korra just NOPED right out of that one.

And he doesn’t just burn up?

[Firebending does focus on the fire within, or as some might say, one’s own inner sun; but actually storing stuff straight from the sun? He should have totally died by burns, heatstroke, and/or cancer by now.]
