This is a party. Kara had the idea and Nita managed the execution. With some Green Lantern help (the universe's most powerful weapon? great for transporting buffet tables and tiki torches) a section of "beach" has been set up with snacks, a surprisingly good bar, deck chairs, and various pool toys--where Nita came by an inflatable horsey ring is anyone's guess.

As it gets closer to evening, the grill is lit and heartier foods are available, though the selection runs rather heavily to fish, since the ocean is right there and nothing can outswim either of your hostesses. That said, you owe it to yourself to try the grilled pineapple.

Anyway, you know what to do.

Modern clothin' is so odd. [Srsly, this is all she is getting from this experience.]

And I don't think I've ever seen so many people on a beach before. [They never really had beach parties back in DunBroch... And that thought gives her a pang of want as she thinks of her family and all she wants to tell them.

Are there always so many parties here? It seems t'be non-stop since I've arrived.

Well, there's no television here. So we have to come up with social engagements. Better than being bored, si?

Wanna go for a walk? The beach is really nice.

[She's about to take his hand and hesitates. Probably not for the reason he thinks though.]

[She'll shoot him a bit of a look but take his hand tentatively, nonetheless.]

[Once her hand is in his, he starts leading her down the beach. Away from Scott, Isaac and Erica. Because he's not wanting them to comment on this, thanks.]

How's everything going? Settling in okay?

Aye. I mean other than th'bein' completely removed from my time.

I also miss ridin' around th'glen on Angus, I don't want t'get rusty at shootin' arrows after all.

He grins at her, not sure who Angus is, but glad that she's here and talking to him.]

I feel ya. I've never shot a bow in my life, but I want to help you do that. I've got a dirk, not a bow. Wanna practice together?

I will certainly try! I've been keeping up with some pretty hardcore peeps. So I think I'll manage.

[He grins back at her, totally smitten by her redheaded self.]

Who's Angus? Just for the record?

[Okay, it will be of no use to ask about "peeps". She will keep that to herself for now. ...she's fairly sure it means friends. maybe.]

Angus is m'horse. I've had 'im since he was a wee little foal. Now he's-- [ She jumps up and tries to gesture with her hand about how high Angus stands. Either way, it's much taller than her.] --right around there.

It's kind of strange not seein' 'im every day.

Hey! Maybe he'll turn up if the turtle finds land again? It's been known to happen. I mean, all the weird stuff people found on the bottom of the ocean...maybe Angus'll pop up?
