Grand Opening!

Situation: It's time for a grand opening!

After weeks of scrimping and saving, planning, organizing, working every day to get everything just so, Bryn's tavern is finally ready to open. There were times she wasn't sure it was ever going to happen, because what did she know about running a business, having only been a customer all of her adult life? There was still a chance that this would spectacularly flop and she would be broke and back to square one again. But tonight isn't the night to worry about that. One thing Bryn does know how to do is throw a party.

So, the two story has been scrubbed and polished within an inch of its life. The lanterns inside and out are burning with fresh candles. The bar is fully stocked, the kitchen has been bustling all day with food preparations, and for tonight, the stage is occupied by some of Keeliai's finest and liveliest kedan musicians. At one corner corner of the first floor, a table with ten jars can be found. Before each jar is a suggested name for the new tavern, and baskets of smoothly polished pebbles to be used to cast votes. Each attendee is welcome to vote for the name of their choosing, and Bryn will call her tavern by whichever one is the most popular.

All that's missing are her guests, whom she hopes to keep as customers over the coming weeks, months, or however long Bryn's stay in the city is.

[ Rachel is all for hanging out at the grand opening of this place. whatever it turns out to be. a bar? she heard about it in passing, about twenty minutes before her arrival, and that was enough to get her to want to stop by. maybe she should have invited the rest of the campers she knows from home to join her, but it really was a last-minute decision, so for now she's just walking around by herself. which is kinda nice! just sipping at her drink and taking in the feel of the place. quite literally, if she taps into her abilities and lets her feel it. it's just a little nudge she can get from people's moods, a vibe.

pretty great vibes all around here, so far.

especially right here by the stage - she's hanging on the outskirts of the small crowd that's formed in front of the stage, a glass of Cola in hand as she bobs her head to the music. it's not bad! a little weird, like most of the native stuff here on the turtle, but not bad. ]

[ Scott's looking for his friends after waking up from a nap to find a note telling him they were going to a bar's grand opening. He doesn't know where the bar is but luckily he can use his werewolf senses to find his friends at the location by tracking their scent.

Once he's at the right place, he looks around for Stiles, Isaac, or anyone else he might know. Spotting the redhead he recognizes from talking to on the network once, he makes his way over to her. ]

Hey... Rachel, right? You probably don't remember me... I'm that guy who said my best friend would go out with you without asking his permission first? [ Cringe. ]

Right! And of course I remember you, Scott. It's cool to meet you in person. [ she's all smiles as she nods, and no she won't comment on the whole date thing. it ended up working out fine anyway, so. no big deal! ] Some party, huh? They didn't even card me for my drink. [ she lifts her cup, tilts it a bit ] I mean, it's just soda, but I could've ordered rum in it and it would've totally happened.

You too. [ He smiles when she remembers him. ] That's cool that they don't ID you. Glad I don't have to use my unbelievably fake ID. [ He laughs. ] Have you seen Stiles? He told me was coming to this to get a job. I really hope he's not drunk again...

Do you really have a fake ID here? [ little bit curious, mostly amused ] And I haven't seen Stiles yet, no. He said he'd definitely be here? I could text him, maybe. It could be fun making up some wild story about what's not really happening here just to see how fast we can get him to rush over.

Yeah, it's from home. I had it in my wallet when I came here. It's really bad, though.

Stiles left me a note that he was coming here. Mention naked girls and he'll be on his way. [ He's joking... sort of. ]

-- Do you have it with you now?

[ BECAUSE NOW SHE WANTS TO SEE IT and it's very obvious by the way her eyes widen a little bit from over the rip of her cup a she takes another sip of her drink. and then he goes and says that, and there's a small snort that makes soda tickle her nose as she laughs ]

Naked girls. He has a very serious crush on someone, I'm sure the only way that would really, actually work, is if I tried to convince him that she was here. But. That would also be really mean, so I won't do that.

...Maybe. [ Scott carries his wallet on him out of habit, even if he doesn't need it here, and it's in the pocket of his jeans right now. He'll probably let her see it if she says please. ]

You're right, he'd probably avoid a room of naked girls... [ Because it would give him a heart attack. ] Naked Lydia on the other hand... well, he'd probably faint like the last time.

Well? [ she lifts a hand, waves it towards herself, very much gimmegimme ] C'mon, you gotta let me see it. I never had a fake ID back home, mostly because I never needed one, but. I've always imagined I'd end up with a name like Estevan Rodrigues or something, but nobody would question it once I put on my very convincing sexy, Spanish male voice. [ you bet she just gave him a sample of said sexy, spanish male voice ] But anyways. Please? I won't laugh, I promise.

Wow, if I closed my eyes right then I totally would have thought you were Estevan Rodrigues. [ Scott plays along with a grin.

Guess who regrets admitting he had his fake ID on him. ] I guess you've twisted my arm... [ Scott grabs his wallet from his pants pocket and pulls out the ID, handing it to her. ] Don't laugh. You promised. [ the picture is so bad. ]

[ she doesn't laugh, she doesn't! but there's a frown pulling at her mouth, the tell-tale frown of someone that's trying not to smile too much or maybe laugh a little tiny bit, just because his hair-! ]

You look- [ BE COOL, DARE. ] -charming.

Scott shakes his head at her as he reaches to take the ID back. ] You're a terrible liar.
