[Bruce usually has a very good gauge of Clark's mental state, and this is no exception. He can practically see the tiny Kryptonian hamsters turning in his brain, at war - as he ever is - about Bruce's casual and nonchalant admittance to having Kryptonite. It's something Bruce will and would never apologize for, because as he sees it, it's his duty. His job.

Darkseid had the right of it, and Bruce remembers his vision blacking out as the god shoved him against a wall until the concrete cracked. He's the one that does what's necessary.

Sometimes that means bluffing.

Sometimes that means endangering an entire planet.

And sometimes it means being the custodian of a weapon that can kill Superman. He snorts.]

Let me ask you something, Clark. Do you think my faculties are in any way diminished, being like this?

[Or do you honestly think he'd go after someone with a Kryptonian's powers, cane flailing. He barely likes going up against Clark at full strength with as many pieces of Kryptonite as he can carry.]

I don't really need to have my usual 'strength' to know you aren't exactly ready to handle a fight, I'm pretty sure one of your legs is swollen, if not outright broken. And that's not mentioning- well, it'd be someone like me.
