Today of all days.

Characters: Angel ([personal profile] 4n631), Khan ([personal profile] khan_artist) Closed;
Date: September 24th.
Location: Metal Sector, subject to change.
Situation: Phase Shifting.
Warnings/Rating: N/A

Now that Angel had time to get better acquainted with not only the city, but also with the concept that she was no longer barred from any contact with the outside, Khan had planned to fetch her today. A simple test run of her Phase Shift ability and its limitations, anything afterwards was inconsequential.

An unforeseen obstacle attempted to present itself in the form of Khan waking up as a woman. A quick look on the network pinpointed Zatanna as the unknowing perpetrator of the accident.

Not letting that stop her, Khan left her suite and made her way through both Fire and Metal Sectors to get to Angel’s suite. Knocking on the door, she waited wearing her usual black attire minus the coat.

Angel half jogged to her front door, pulling it open to find-- a strange woman was staring at her. She was stern and imposing, and wearing attire similar to Khans. So perhaps this was...a sibling? Relative? Whatever the case the girl tried not to stare too much and stepped back, clearing the way, her brunette ponytail flopping against her shoulder lightly.

"Uhm-- hello?" The girl asked tentatively.

"Oh...Oh!" Angels exclamation signaled the realization of who she was speaking to without further need for explanation. It was hard not to recognize Khan's mannerisms anyway, regardless of gender.

After that she quickly withdrew herself from the doorway to allow the woman full entrance into her home.

"Well that's...I guess that's not the worst thing that could have happened to you right?" She said congenially as she made her way into the living room. She didn't mention the woman's obviously unbound breasts for the moment, feeling like that might be rude.

The girl took a look at the screen, surprised to see so many accounts of strange events. She didn't seem to be affected herself however. "I don't feel any different." Angel commented. "There's no feeling of...missing ability."

Angel hadn't used her Phase Shift much since arriving, but she was sure that if the power had left her or been shut off somehow she would have felt some difference. She had to wonder too, just what kind of tests the man woman had planned for her abilities. She could probably start off with some display of her hacking on the network, even though she would undoubtedly feel about about breaking in and taking a peek at someone's private conversations.

"Right." The girl said shortly, turning with a focused look toward the screen once more. Seeming to scan the monitor for a moment, her tattoos began to glow with a brighter, purer white light which extended to her eyes as the words "Executing Phase Shift" left her mouth almost automatically. She had left Khan behind, a virtual landscape building up around her to represent the inside of the network. The encryption was like a puzzle, she just had to arrange everything properly in order to access the information.

This one in particular was challengingly complicated. However while it seemed to take a bit of time for her to work through it inside the network; on the outside the time that passes was surprisingly brief, and before long she was turning her head back to examine the woman.

"That was an interesting set." She remarked, a little amused.

If Khan was expecting the woman to wilt like a delicate flower at the mentions of mass murder and violence, the woman was surely going to be surprised. After all, even though she couldn't be with them physically, Angel had seen and become inured to most of the things that were considered 'just another day' on Pandora. When she disconnected from the network, her eyes returned to their clear, bright blue color and she blinked a couple of times to get readjusted to the lighting in the room.

Angel was surely curious about his crew and what was to become of them, but she left that for another time as the woman turned her gaze back toward Khan and broached a little smile. "That went well, even though I haven't practiced in some time." She commented and thought a second before adding "I should try a full interface too." indicating that this trance like state was not the extent of her abilities.

The girl completed the same phrase she had a moment ago, however this time instead of merely looking as though she were going into a trace, the young woman was enveloped in a brief white light and then vanished entirely. She was now fully integrated into the virtual landscape of the network, with posts both open and encrypted spread out before her, each one connected to a location in the physical world.

This brought a smile to the woman's face even though she refrained from exploring those posts for the time being. The space was clean and bright to her, and much different than the echonet had been. It was all incredibly exciting and as soon as she returned to the room in her suite she knew she wanted to test her ability to move and transport others through her new virtual space.

She was back in a flash, turning to look at the other woman with a bright smile. "Alright! I think we can go somewhere now!" She said cheerfully.

The young woman took a moment to catch her breath a little bit and enjoy the knowledge that her siren traits were all functioning normally, not only since her arrival on the turtle but also after the little blood transfusion she'd received. After her pause though she stood up from the desk chair, since her next action was going to require her to be standing.

"We can go somewhere." She said again, practically beaming. "I'll show you!"

And with that, she stated her siren command once more. This time however, the girl seemed to rise off the ground a few inches, as brilliant white energy in the form of wings took shape on her back. The scenery around them changed as well, swiftly becoming the bright and clean virtual landscape of the network. In that space, she was floating like her namesake, looking around for an interesting place to take them. From time to time, a transparent screen seemed to appear in front of her, like her own personal HUD.

"Oh, I think I know where we can go now." She nodded before turning toward Khan; who she was barely at eye level with even while floating. "You know, the last time I used this ability, I was bringing th vault hunters into my chamber so they could kill me." The woman spoke candidly. "But even then, I could only bring them to me. I wasn't able to go anywhere with them."

Even hovering as she was, the girl was only at eye level with the taller woman. She moved easily though down the digital corridor toward one of the glowing squares that represented a linked in console. She paused only a moment as Khan asked her about her reasons for asking the Vault Hunters to end her life, and with a small exhale, she glanced back at the woman.

"I guess the answer to that begins with my Father." She said a bit weakly, before she began to explain in as short a length as possible; the events that eventually culminated in her death.
