Today of all days.
Characters: Angel (
4n631), Khan (
khan_artist) Closed;
Date: September 24th.
Location: Metal Sector, subject to change.
Situation: Phase Shifting.
Warnings/Rating: N/A
Now that Angel had time to get better acquainted with not only the city, but also with the concept that she was no longer barred from any contact with the outside, Khan had planned to fetch her today. A simple test run of her Phase Shift ability and its limitations, anything afterwards was inconsequential.
An unforeseen obstacle attempted to present itself in the form of Khan waking up as a woman. A quick look on the network pinpointed Zatanna as the unknowing perpetrator of the accident.
Not letting that stop her, Khan left her suite and made her way through both Fire and Metal Sectors to get to Angel’s suite. Knocking on the door, she waited wearing her usual black attire minus the coat.

"Uhm-- hello?" The girl asked tentatively.
no subject
"There has been a magical phenomenon that spread across the city affecting many, including myself. " Her tone was clipped, unused to the new voice that was coming out. "I am still. adapting."
Lingering on that didn’t seem prevalent to her. And neither did bras apparently.

After that she quickly withdrew herself from the doorway to allow the woman full entrance into her home.
"Well that's...I guess that's not the worst thing that could have happened to you right?" She said congenially as she made her way into the living room. She didn't mention the woman's obviously unbound breasts for the moment, feeling like that might be rude.
no subject
"Worse things have happened to others according to the network. Some of have even found themselves in another’s body."
Once inside, Khan helped herself to bringing up Angel’s console to show the network posts of foreigners that have been aged up and down, others that were talking about being in the wrong body, and some like him that have changed gender.
"Unless your Phasing ability has been transferred to one of the others, then you seem to have escaped the magical influx that happened early this morning." A statement that was really more of a question. He wanted to know if the Siren had lost her powers.

Angel hadn't used her Phase Shift much since arriving, but she was sure that if the power had left her or been shut off somehow she would have felt some difference. She had to wonder too, just what kind of tests the
manwoman had planned for her abilities. She could probably start off with some display of her hacking on the network, even though she would undoubtedly feel about about breaking in and taking a peek at someone's private conversations.no subject
"Excellent. Then we can continue." Finding her initial network post was simple enough for Khan and once she had it up, Khan stepped away to give Angel room.
"There are two encryptions in my post. Let me know if you’re able to break them." While her tone wasn’t as deep as normal, Khan’s pointed manner of speaking was apparent.

This one in particular was challengingly complicated. However while it seemed to take a bit of time for her to work through it inside the network; on the outside the time that passes was surprisingly brief, and before long she was turning her head back to examine the woman.
"That was an interesting set." She remarked, a little amused.

Then the change on the monitor happened and Khan eyed it. The encrypted messages on the post were now visible, who they were sent and what was said suddenly became available on Angel’s console.
The fact that she didn’t have to even touch the console was nothing short of amazing to her, though she kept a neutral face.
"The former was simply in regards to employment; though the latter was directed at those that came from my world." Khan hated referring to it as a world. Yes, Earth was his world but that was only one planet in one galaxy. Her eyes lingered on the conversation she had with Jim on that second day and the truth about her past that lay in it.

Angel was surely curious about his crew and what was to become of them, but she left that for another time as the woman turned her gaze back toward Khan and broached a little smile. "That went well, even though I haven't practiced in some time." She commented and thought a second before adding "I should try a full interface too." indicating that this trance like state was not the extent of her abilities.

After a moment, she merely nodded to encourage her to test it out. They had time and the only other pressing issue that Khan was aware of was being turned female. But that didn’t hinder her at all, nor was something she could fix.
That was being worked on already by the one caused it.
"Continue if you are able."
no subject
This brought a smile to the woman's face even though she refrained from exploring those posts for the time being. The space was clean and bright to her, and much different than the echonet had been. It was all incredibly exciting and as soon as she returned to the room in her suite she knew she wanted to test her ability to move and transport others through her new virtual space.
She was back in a flash, turning to look at the other woman with a bright smile. "Alright! I think we can go somewhere now!" She said cheerfully.
no subject
Then, just as suddenly, Angel returned and her enthusiastic statement caught her completely off guard.
"What?" Seriously, because WHAT?
no subject
"We can go somewhere." She said again, practically beaming. "I'll show you!"
And with that, she stated her siren command once more. This time however, the girl seemed to rise off the ground a few inches, as brilliant white energy in the form of wings took shape on her back. The scenery around them changed as well, swiftly becoming the bright and clean virtual landscape of the network. In that space, she was floating like her namesake, looking around for an interesting place to take them. From time to time, a transparent screen seemed to appear in front of her, like her own personal HUD.
"Oh, I think I know where we can go now." She nodded before turning toward Khan; who she was barely at eye level with even while floating. "You know, the last time I used this ability, I was bringing th vault hunters into my chamber so they could kill me." The woman spoke candidly. "But even then, I could only bring them to me. I wasn't able to go anywhere with them."
no subject
Finding herself unable to interact at all with anything inside the open space, Khan focused on studying Angel’s digital HUD.
Then Angel’s words, stated so plainly, made her pause to look at her angelic guide.
"Why would you?" There wasn’t any sense of pity, only curiosity on the strangeness of that situation she put herself in. Though she did note that Angel was less mobile then.
no subject
"I guess the answer to that begins with my Father." She said a bit weakly, before she began to explain in as short a length as possible; the events that eventually culminated in her death.

This was the Siren’s playground, and even in this new network; Angel still navigated through it easily. Something Khan took note of.
“That seems to be happening often.” She said with a light edge to her tone. Khan was no slouch and researched as much as she could on Alexander Marcus and wasn’t surprised to discover that he had kept all of Section 31 a secret from his family. Namely his daughter, Carol.
“Death can be quite the solution.” She paused, ready to follow Angel to wherever the console she was in front of would take her. “Him instead of yourself would have been the better option.” She said succinctly and without any hint of remorse or pity.
