ding dong its time for a new leader
Characters: Rory Willams and anybody else
Date: Sometime after the announcement of the Ironwood Emperor's death
Location: On the turtle's head
Situation: Things happen(ed), and Rory contemplates
Warnings/Rating: E because its just Rory thinking. Will edit if anything changes!
[He woke up, of course. It was impossible to have not woken up, considering the depth of the emotions that shook him. Rory always has been rather emphatic - or at least, very considerate of the feelings of others around him. But the strength of the emotions then had been so much more than he had ever felt in his life - and he had lived a lot, considering everything.
It wasn't until the announcement then did he realize what had happened, and that was - that was terrible, really. Unlike others Rory really didn't know anything about the previous Emperor or how she was or even, well, anything. But she had been trying, he knew, trying her best just like so many other people here were. And now she was dead...
He doesn't know her, but somebody dying was hardly ever a good thing, especially with what he had felt, and even as he felt the silent apology he could feel the pain that the old turtle felt. The Doctor would have been just as affected, he thinks, if not more, had he still been here.
It's more of an impulse than anything else, but that impulse brings Rory to the turtle's head as he settles down, watching the skies and the surroundings as he contemplates about everything that's happened. Not that he knows if he can do anything, but at least while he was here, perhaps he could share a bit of the pain and sorrow that the turtle was feeling.]

Not the last time I checked.

[His brow furrows in thought.]
Do you know someone who does? Because that's the kind of thing that happens with Destiny.

Well, no, not really. It's just... [How does he explain this - he's pretty sure time travel won't sit well with him.] I mean, sometimes things just have to happen, right? Otherwise other things wouldn't happen. I mean, its not good that the Emperor is dead, but may be something important and good might come out of it.
[Awkward silence.]
Not that I wished it happened all the same, but... yeah.

[Aang can't help but think of his people in this moment. Lost to history because something really important had to happen.]
At least we can make a difference this time.

I certainly hope the same as well.
