[Septimus rolls his eyes a bit. Kyle's seen quite a bit more than most people. ...Well, not counting the people during the zombie invasion who saw him set quite a lot of things on fire. Still, he's in too good a mood to actually feel too aggravated, and he's still smiling.

Mildly:] I had legitimate work to do. [Totally his motivation.] I'll keep you two company, so lead the way.

Moping's not work, my friend.

[He nudges the hatchling, and she moves excitedly. Kyle, surprised by the ease of her movements, nearly falls off, but there's a delighted smile on his face.]

Planning is.

[Even so, it's a half-hearted protest. The memories have weight heavily on him the last week or so. Watching Kyle nearly fall off makes him snicker and begin nudging at Riva as he follows them. Maybe he can encourage her to actually make Kyle fall off.

Yes, he sometimes has a sadistic sense of humor. Family trait.]

[Dude, laughing at his misery is not cool B( He keeps a good grip, wondering how ridiculous he'll look if he adds a cowboy hat to his current ensemble of... civilian clothes.]

[But it is pretty funny. It'll be even funnier with the cowboy hat.]

Well, the hospital isn't going to plan itself.

[He breaks into a trot to keep up with them.]

[Kyle is now wearing a cowboy hat because reasons.]

How big d'you want that thing anyway, if it hasn't been built yet?

[The cowboy hat earns a snicker. He's never seen anything like that before.

Septimus tilts his head, measuring.]

How long does building such things take in your world?

A couple of months? But here you've got people who could raise buildings in a matter of seconds.

[He smiles faintly and raises a hand, to start ticking off points.]

One: We began truly concrete discussions two and a half months ago, more or less. Approximately a month later I met with Eshai on the subject. [A shadow passes over his face briefly. Riva takes a moment to headbutt him in comfort; luckily Septimus figures it out soon enough to grab a rock and pull on enough earthcrafting to not get knocked over.] That was how we secured the location.

Two: Architecture can take time to determine, especially if it isn't to a base standard design. This one certainly is not, by the standards of any of our worlds, I think.

Three: Raising a building requires materials to raise it with. Stone doesn't go as deep here, and other materials for building are a little hard to come by. Our stop at land helped with that, but that was a good two weeks later.

[He's on a roll here, clearly, and partially thinking out loud. There is a reason he's been working on this so hard--and so enthusiastically.]
