If I go crazy then

Characters: Clark Kent & OPEN
Date: Catch-all after the Kryptonite incident | Lane-Kent-El Christmas
Location: The Lane-Kent's residence / Around the turtle + turtle's head
Situation: Superman was attacked with Kryptonite, right before the Emperor died. This is him dealing with the consequences.
Warnings/Rating: Talk of his attack and death maybe, nothing too heavy

a) Personal visits right after the attack (Clark/Kal)

There were a couple people who deserved to know the little girl had Kryptonite right away, for their own safety. Jor-El, Kon-El, Galatea. He wasn't going to risk their safety, those couldn't wait. Others simply deserved to know.

And talking about Kryptonite over the network had gotten him into this to begin with, he wasn't going to make the same mistakes. This time it would be face to face, even if he was feeling like death warmed over.

[OOC: already mentioned on plurk who Clark would directly go tell them, poke me if you aren't sure]

b) The Lane-Kent's (Clark/Kal)

Being bedridden was perhaps surprisingly annoying for someone who enjoyed his fortress of solitude so much. But actively seeking for isolation when the weight over his shoulders became too heavy and the screams of people he had failed followed him everywhere wasn't the same as being forced to stay inside with the permanent reminder of what had gotten him to that point. Kryptonite usually took a couple days to get out his system at worse, but the decreasing hours of sun as the turtle visited colder places were making his healing slower than it'd usually be.

Lois had been taking care of the radio and the general grocery shopping while forcing him to stay down (there wasn't much that could get Superman out of commission, but when they got him they got him good) so there wasn't much for him to do inside the house but check on the network and clean up once he began feeling better... the house had never been so spotless.

Visits were definitely welcome.

c) Water Sector (Superman)

Kal hadn't tested his powers for ages. He wasn't overconfident with them per se, he'd just tested his limits far too many times to expect any kind of surprise when it came to them. Unless the surprise was taking away his powers in their entirety, and in those cases no amount of testing would help- he trained to learn how to stop relying on his powers for those cases.

But Eshai had died. Eshai had died because he had been deaf, blind and weak. Because Kryptonite had had more of an effect than he had anticipated, because all he had been able to do is stand there as Evandau told them she had been killed. He knew it had been the same killer, he knew, he recognized the modus operandi... but without his powers there were plenty of people more capable of finding him... both people he trusted and people he'd just met but had already proven their worth investigating like one Sharon Carter. All he could do was give them information.

So he blurred around the turtle, not as fast as he usually could get but as fast as his body would allow him at the moment. He flew up and up and up until he met the barrier in all directions. He went down the water and held his breath, testing his lungs. He tested his powers in all the ways he could come up in a short time.

And when he was done he sat on the head on the turtle, hugging his legs and looking at the horizon. He just wished he had Arthur's telepathy so he could apologize to Asti.
