If she were to find that out, it would give Sarah another perspective to consider. For the moment, school stills its in her mind as a chore. In a few weeks perhaps, her opinion might change.

"Yeah I can cook," comes the reply. It's a surprise to hear that Tess never learned. "Dad worked late a lot, so it was cooking for myself, or with Uncle Tommy, or y'know, takeout."

She smiles up at Tess. "I can cook for you, maybe? Or help out with it. Somethin' to say thanks!"
