[Oh, Leo's noticed the staring. It still unnerves him even when he knows that Nico is just that sort of guy going around staring and being scary at people because he's one with the shadows, or whatever. When Nico does collide against him though, he releases a maybe-exaggerated cry of protest, because wow, rude, Nico.

But he knows the guy isn't going to say sorry or anything because honestly? He's kind of an ass. Is he really Hazel's brother? For real? It's so weird setting them side by side, one pasty boy with a permanent grumpy-slash-brooding face on and the other a sweet and gentle girl until you hand her a horse and a blade. Leo really wishes Hazel was the Child of Hades that was here with them. Pluto. Whatever.

Maybe it's time for a tactic of approach alternate from "What the Hades/your father Nico, what is your problem?" So Leo grins and rubs the back of his head, trying to look as embarrassed as possible. (He fails at it considerably.)]

[ catching a glimpse of leo and bumping into him weren't supposed to be simultaneous events in nico's mind, but when he'd caught the wrong end of a shadow and ended up not too far from where he'd just left, he finds himself stumbling past the other boy. despite the time they'd spent together on the airship, it wasn't as if everyone had automatically bonded with one another — or rather, nico certainly hadn't. he still stares at leo warily, knowing full well that he's attempting to use his humour to ease the situation, but feeling at sort of a loss on how to react to it.

he figures since he is getting some kind of attempt at civility and because, staring or not, he wasn't raised completely without manners, he can at least sort of respond. ]
