[Percy is always the greatest at reading people, but even he can tell that Nico, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to want him to be there. At all.

There's no hiding the irritation that sparks on his face, and he scowls a little at the younger guy] Yeah? You sure wander around like one. Where've you been, Annabeth and I have spent days looking.

[ the stubbornness must be shared amongst their godly side because nico's all too quick to reciprocate with a scowl of his own. he doesn't want to feel guilted for avoiding the two of them; it wasn't his fault they were constantly joined at the hip. ]

Still here. [ the way he spits it out is half-agitation at the fact that his situation is permanent and half because of course percy would stupidly worry about everyone. ] You don't have to act like I'm helpless.

Yeah, well, considering how you have this habit of falling off the face of the earth, I figured keeping track would be a good idea. [His expression twists a little as he says that, dark thoughts rising to the forefront of his mind with words like 'falling' and 'earth'.

He lets out a frustrated sigh] Did I say that? I don't think you're helpless.

[ he doesn't pick up on the change in expression, at least not immediately, since he's still preoccupied with trying to figure out the quickest way to end this encounter with the other demigod. ]

No, but you're acting like I can't take care of myself.

[ sure his tendency to wander off on his own didn't always have the best results, but it was better than anything else. ]

[The thing is, out of all the demigods not Annabeth, Nico is the one that Percy thinks can take care of himself the most. He just doesn't think he should have to anymore, is aware that he's probably failed the guy in some fundamental way.

Unfortunately, that's hard to express around the short handle he has on his temper these days] No, I'm acting like pretty much everyone I know who's showed up on this turtle has disappeared again. Hazel, Rachel, you, Jason, Piper. Even Luke. Everyone else keeps in touch, except for you.
