"I don't believe I've met him, no," she said slowly, trying to remember all the while if she might have encountered him without introduction. But no, firebending would likely be fairly remarkable.
The term 'bending' was still giving her some pause, in that it looked rather a lot like Korra's world's version of magic, but everyone else Raine had met simply used the term, or something like it. Which was not to say that there couldn't be a break in pattern -- there must be thousands of possible worlds -- but it seemed odd, nevertheless. Not large, in the overall scheme of things, but interesting.
"I'm curious," Raine said finally, "but I don't even know where to start asking. And I shouldn't stay long, if you're well enough, but-- Why is it called 'bending'?"
