[OPEN] Eshai Memorial Hospital May catch-all

Situation: General Hospital a la Turtle-back
Warnings/Rating: It’s a hospital, there will probably injuries/blood/etc at some point.

There are still signs of the damage taken in the bombings, but repairs are taking place and are obviously not keeping the hospital from its usual busy schedule. Some of the work seems to be plumbing related: with the city water contaminated, they are trying to get a back-up system in place easier to keep purified, and sometimes some of the staff and volunteers can be found doing just that. Everyone needs sanitary water.

Some of the rooms have been reassigned uses until the repairs are finished, usually in favor of keeping intensive care as flexible as possible. First aid training still takes place in the classroom on the third floor, along with classroom-friendly aspects of field training.

Upon request, the list of active field medics will be provided by the front desk, along with who is currently on-call.

"How fast you're going," he begins, ticking things off on his fingers, "that it seems like balance is key, and that its path seems to rely on never going in a precisely straight line--which makes it somewhat imprecise, I'd think."

Oh yes, he's amused, all right.

"Oh. OH you can go in a straight line, it's just not as much fun for me, so I don't."

The answer's actually a pretty good one, and Septimus laughs. "Seems reasonable enough," he agrees. "Still, it's becoming very useful for all those errands."

And then he tilts his head at Aang thoughtfully. "I've been thinking--how would you like to expand on that usefulness a little?"

(He does not consciously think about how Cursors are, in kind of public job description, Official Messengers of the Crown. Some of those messages are just more... covert, and some of them extremely pointed.)

He knows he's not supposed to preen at the praise, but he can't stop himself from looking pleased about it.

"How do you mean?"

Leaning against a wall, Septimus eyes Aang and smiles a little at the boy's pleasure. "The consoles are down--and our friend in the shadows can't have done everything without help. Finding secure ways of getting messages or deliveries is going to be harder than usual for a while."

Some part of him wonders, very briefly, if he should really be doing this. But asking this doesn't have the connotations it would in Alera; Aang doesn't need to know about those connotations, and this can be limited to hospital business, right?

"I have no doubt things are going to get more complicated shortly, and we'll need even more communication. How do you feel about running some of these errands for the hospital outside our walls?"
