Hayley began walking when Clark did, confident he would join her without needing to say anything. She had been planning to head into work, but her schedule wasn't particularly important and it seemed like a better idea to talk to Clark and try to see where things were rather than just to run off to unnecessary labor for now. They hadn't spoken in a long while and she still wasn't sure if they were actually friends again or if he was still holding a grudge. Truthfully, she wasn't entirely convinced that she wasn't holding a grudge herself.

For now, walking beside him instead of looking at him, it was easier to relax. The muscles in her shoulders loosened and her lips curved into a small smile, content to be in this place with him for the moment.

"Don't- Avoid the parenting remarks, okay?" Friend or not, Clark's comments on her lifestyle often came off as not entirely unlike a parent. The last thing she wanted was a reminder of the comparison. "And no. I mean, kind of? It doesn't really matter. I decided to take some time to think and I did and now I'm back being all Miss Social Butterfly, so there's nothing to worry about."
