It's only Evandau and Evastelei in the room this time, as the two sponsors for those she'll be helping. Without Milyn's frenetic energy, the chamber seems tense and impatient, even though Eva will greet them with a smile that contrasts with the severe burn scarring on her face. The Emperor, for his part, seems even more terse and short tempered than usual.

Those whom Eva has agreed to do this exchange for should be here any minute, so she steps back from the round stone pool after passing a hand over the shimmering water, like a sheen of fine oil on its surface.

"It's ready," she says.

Natasha enters the room and nods to the Emperor, standing at the edge of the pool. The donation had been made -- anonymously, of course, but she'd done it, a large enough sum to keep restorations going for a while.

"Clothes and all?" She asks, glancing from Evandau to Evastelei.

"No need to get them wet," Eva says, offering a hospital-type robe. "We'll keep them here safe and sound for you."

Gene approaches the Emperor and Evastelei, all cool courtesy to the one and more attentive to the other. He's not without propriety of course, far from it, but he is impatient. He can't put it off any longer; he needs to know what happens to him. Still, he manages the niceties without looking bothered.

"So how exactly does this work?" he asks at the first opportunity.

"You put on one of those robes there," Eva nodded at the clothing on the table against the wall. "And then get into this tub here, some magic and there you go, gone home right as you please. For a little while only, of course," she adds with a look at Evandau, as if the Emperor might take it as a more permanent escape without the reassurance.

[wrathfulkhan]

"Only temporarily. Of course," Gene agrees, though he's impatient. If this works - if he gets the ring like he's supposed to - he can make their little Malicant problem disappear, and then get back to the process of fixing his world, like he's supposed to.

He retrieves one of the robes, his belongings secured. "I'm ready."

Eva seems to sense the masked impatience, a small and quirky smile gracing her scarred face. After all, she's his sponsor for this venture so it would make sense that she'd also want this done as expediently as possible.

"Come over here," she says, offering a hand to help him into the pool of water, even though it's only a few feet deep.

Gene accepts the offered hand from Evastelei. He's grateful to her for sponsoring his excursion back home, and once he gets back with his prize, he plans to show it. (He's going to be a merciful god, after all.) He does feel a bit of a fool sitting in a pool of water in a white robe, but sometimes, dignity must be temporarily sacrificed for a greater goal.

"And now?" His heart's pounding hard. Shortly, he'll finally get his greatest wish. He'll be able to fix everything. He'll be able to prove - to everyone - that he's not a monster.

"Now you just relax and trust me," Eva answers, though she acknowledges that might be a challenge. She'll guide him down so he's kneeling in the water, placing a hand on the back of his neck.

"Ready?"

[wrathfulkhan]

Gene's ready. He's so ready.

"Ready," he says, managing to keep his voice from shaking. He wants to get this over with.

Eva seems to take pity on him, guiding him down so that his head dips below the surface of the water. There's a tingle that runs over his skin, like a faint electric charge and then he's gone.
