Situation: These characters are tracked down by an NPC and given some information, as well as asked a few things in return. Individual scenarios are in the main body of the post itself.

[She mimes flying-- and, well, crashing with one hand.]

[ And a wince as he imagines the impact with the sand. Not as hard as solid ground, but still scrape-worthy and ten times as hard to get out of wounds. ]

And what, exactly, were you doing trying to fly around here? Easier method of travel, I'll give you that, but the conditions around here are absolutely dreadful.

Well, you can't just say something like that and not have results to share.

[A nod to her leg. Because that's exactly what happened.]

So your entire purpose was to see if you'd even make it?

Sort of. You see, I'm sort of into magic, but every once in a while I try new spells...

[GUILTY SHRUG. It's self-explanatory, really.]

[ oh no THE "M" WORD.... don't mind him scrunching up his face. ]

Really? And do these spells work? Have they ever?

[wroughtiron]

[O-ho a skeptic. Her favourite kind of foreigner, excuse her. She gives him a deeply sardonic look and then points at a nearby rock. It's a poor, innocuous thing, doing nothing more offensive than lying inert on the hard-baked desert sand.

And then it explodes.

She deflects any oncoming shards with a hard light half-sphere. Magical kinetic barriers. They're a thing.

Her expression, please note, is very smug.]

[ He automatically flinches at the shards, not knowing that she intends to stop them with her own abilities. Once he realizes he's very pointedly not skewered, he lets down the arms he'd raised to protect himself and gives her a slightly sour look. ]

Was that really necessary? I'd have taken a less threatening thing, or even your word for it!

I'm beginning to question your definition of fun.

Have you had enough or have you got more in plan? [ should he brace himself? ]

I have lived a sad, solitary life in the desert for my entire life. My definition of fun might not be exactly congruent to everyone else's.

But for the time being... [she indicates her leg.]

I think I've had enough.

I can help you get about to somewhere, if you need it. Since you've already promised to keep the explosion to a minimum.

I am at that. The only one left, at least to my knowledge. Unless you'd include the ones that aren't breathing, in which case, well... then I suppose I'm one of several million.

[She probably doesn't seem as bothered by that as she should, and to his other comment she nods.]
