OPEN | Tonight the foxes hunt the hounds
Characters: Zatanna & Open
Date: Early September
Location: Mu-Hao to start, though mostly just around Keelai
Situation: Revenge is a dish best served cold; as such, Zatanna enlists her favorite partner in crime to get back at Wan before making a run for it. In the meantime, catching up with some of the current Turtle population.
Warnings/Rating: None
She wasn't entirely sure when a single challenge had turned into an all-out prank war, but she was pretty sure it had something to do with Wan using his then-secret nature of technically-Korra-even-though-not-actually-Korra to get past her room Wards. Rude.
It was perfect. He had snuck into her room, so she would simply keep him out of his. For a little while, anyway. Jack had been all too eager to help her, because of course he was. Setup took minutes. They only had to wait until he was long gone for the morning. A thick block of ice covering his door, and a second blocking the window. He was, in essence, frozen out of his room until the ice melted.
From there, she quickly decided a clean escape while she had the chance was best. She would return to the scene of the crime later, for sure, but in the meantime, she was suddenly up for a nice, long stroll around the city.
And if someone just so happened to catch her in yet another fit of laughter, well...depending upon who it was, she might be up for explaining over a milkshake. Preferably chocolate. With extra whipped cream.
She'd earned it, after all.
((ooc: general mingle for anybody who wants to run into a giddy Zee pretty much anywhere around the city. Just specify in any starter threads and I'll roll with things~))

Jack and I've been practicing combining our magic together. The blocks of ice? That was us.

[...Nevermind the fact it was a prank or anything. Wan wasn't sick, and so Ryou could now openly fawn over the whole magic thing.]
How come everyone here can do cool stuff? Unless making dioramas really fast counts as a super power, I feel like the odd man out.
no subject
Luck of the housing draw, I guess?
Not everybody in Keelai has powers. We just happen to be a couple of the people that do.
no subject
I guess when you put it that way, it means I'm pretty lucky to get to hang out with you guys. So could you always do stuff like that, or did a turtle teach you?
[Wan mentioned a turtle teaching him his powers before...]

[He smiles, but it's hard to tell if he's joking or really though talking to a turtle would bag him some sweet superpowers.]
no subject
[She might not have been responsible for one of her own, but she knew people who had, and heard all sorts of stories about what the hatchlings were capable of.]
no subject
[What would you even call it? Turtlish? Turtlenese? Food for thought.]
I'm kind of glad we don't have one of those around here though. She seems sweet, but like a real pain to take care of.
no subject
I mean, I'm guessing she's a Turtle. [She's also guessing she's a she based on the name.] But I didn't realize you were on a first-name basis with any of them.
[Particularly since she was almost certain he hadn't been around for the last round of dream-invasions.]
no subject
[Does...does she even have a last name? He has no idea.]
I've only met her twice now, when I went over there.
no subject
[Oh, no, wait. It took her a second, but she figured out. And it sounded even weirder in her head than his nickname for Jack.]
...wait, he has a Turtle? Really?
no subject
Yeah, a really big one! Although, they all might be that big... I haven't seen any others, so I'm not really sure.
no subject
I would never have figured him for anything close to paternal.
no subject
When you put it that way, Baku-san reminds me of the sort of parent who would be a sore loser even at their own children.
no subject
[Of the look on his face when she'd confronted him. The attitude.]
I would absolutely buy that.
no subject
Poor Emily-Helen-chan.. Maybe I should see if there's not something I can teach her anyway. [Just to bug Bakura? Or because he thinks everybody should experience the joy of games?
A little of both.]
no subject
Couldn't hurt to try. From what I know of those not-so-little guys, they love learning.
no subject
Maybe a quiz-game, or anything you don't need fingers for. [The more he thinks about it, the more excited he seems to get. It may bug Bakura--which is fine by him--but he wouldn't mind playing it with her either.]

no subject
So Zatanna-chan, have you been doing anything else today besides freezing doors? [He makes shifty eyes and then leans in to whisper.]
And can I watch next time?
no subject
I never would have pegged you for the sort.
no subject
Ehh? Well, I don't think there's anything wrong with a harmless prank between friends, as long as nobody gets hurt!
no subject
You said you wanted to watch the other thing I was up to today.
no subject
I did? [He had meant the door freezing, but now that he thinks about it the way he said it could be easily misunderstood.] What was the other thing?
[Ryou, stop. Ryou, no.]
no subject
I was on a date. With Jack.
My boyfriend.
[Hint, hint.]
