Notes: This is a free for all log, so feel free to handwave the training and just interact with the other characters, or Akito, at a particular lesson/training session. Make sure to include which week your tag takes place in! Seriously - go nuts!


Beginner's Self-Defense
- Location: Wood Sector
- Days: Mon/Wed/Fri
- Time: 7:00am - 11:00am

Akito promised he would have training for beginners, and he isn't about to back out of something so important. The first month of training will be spent learning basic punching and kicking techniques, and practicing agility. It's important to know your body and it's limits, so you know when you can push them. He will also be very strict about injury prevention.

(open to Ryou, Enjorlas, and any other characters who want to start learning basic self defense techniques. he will eventually work up to teaching some simple knife skills.)



Advanced Group
- Location: Wood Sector
- Days: Mon/Wed/Fri
- Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

He hasn't organized this in an effort to teach, but merely for the more skilled fighters on Keeliai to meet each other and discuss their techniques, and have the opportunity to spar with each other.



Taint Detecting
- Location: Anton's Hotel
- Days: Tues/Sat (starting 10/03/14)
- Time: 8:00am - 2:00pm

Thanks to Solomon's notes and lesson outlines, Akito does his best to teach the skill he's learned to others. Whether or not he's successful is up for debate, since he can't quite reproduce Karanea's exact lessons.

He'll be very strict about not causing a mess for Anton, since his hotel still hasn't completely recovered from its recent damage.



Hatchling Defense
- Location: Wherever the hatchling in question is located.
- Days: Varies between Tues/Wed/Sat
- Time: 3:00pm - 6:00pm Tues/Sat & 8:00am - 11:00am Sat

If any of the turtle hatchlings want to learn some self-defense, Akito will do his best to accommodate them. He doesn't know much about how a turtle would be able to fight, but he'll focus on them using their size to their advantage, and stress that they should never be afraid to bite someone who is trying to harm them.



Bending Training
- Location: Wood Sector
- Days: Sun
- Time: 8:00am - 12:00pm

Akito doesn't expect Zuko or Wan to show up, but he's hoping the other Benders he's contacted will come to train with him, and each other. He knows a good fighting technique that requires both air and fire elements - one that he, Agito, and Kazu had used before to great effect - and hopes he can pass it along successfully.

Since training will end at noon, he'll make sure to take the time to make lunch for everyone who turns up.

She brings a hand to her temple and shuts her eyes a moment before sighing and letting her hand drop. Nilin will need to talk to Hawke about this. Then again, talking about the whatever it is that's between them is just opening another can of worms. She appreciates that he drops the matter.

"You run the delivery service, don't you? Is that still functional?"

Another interesting reaction, but considering how Hawke's responded to teasing and prodding in the past, it isn't all that surprising.

"I still run deliveries for other foreigners if they need me to, but only once a day, when it's dark and easier to go undetected." He takes his time in answering, since he hasn't been asked this question yet. "Preferably from foreigner to foreigner, but if there isn't any increased danger I'll still run errands from foreigner to Kedan."

Nilin nods. It's good to hear that with all the chaos, something is still normal. Well, mostly. "Have you got someone to watch your back? These are... dangerous times. An extra set of eyes can't hurt."

[akito]

Akito shrugs off the concern. "The person I had as a helper left a while ago now, but it's easier to travel alone since I use roofs, not roads."

That gets a smirk. Nilin follows the rooftop paths more than she does the streets. After years of climbing about Neo-Paris, doing so just feels natural to her.

"Good call. Staying off the road is a wise choice, given how things have been as of late."

[akito]

"Stupid choices cost lives," he says. "So I try not to make them when it counts."

Admittedly he's scared that he has already made a stupid choice. He isn't meant to be in any position of authority, chosen or otherwise. Organization, planning, and observation are what he's good at, not leading anyone. But he knows how to give orders, and nobody more qualified has done something like this so far.

"Ah, thanks for coming, by the way. I'm not sure how many others will show up, if any."

In all honesty, Nilin doesn't see anyone as a leader in this mess. There are a few that take initiative, but always others that stand with them and fight just as hard. To her, this is an information share; the chance to grow and learn and know more about the people she's fighting with.

"One is better than none. Besides, word will spread. We're all in this fight together."

Akito nods his agreement, but can't help but add: "Though most of the time people seem to forget the 'together' part."

It's understandable, given nobody really knows who can be trusted and who can't at times. Still, it's frustrating.

"True."

She frowns a little, folding her arms across her chest. "Sadly there's only so much we can do about that. Now," Nilin's expression brightens a little. "Why don't you show me what you can do? Unless there's something else planned for this training session?"

[akito]

He nods, chewing on his lip absently in place of a frown. "I don't expect many people to listen to me, but I'm going to keep trying to at least get some organization started." And leave behind written schedules, plans, and theories in case he disappears too. "Hopefully it will help." If it doesn't, at least he can say he tried.

Akito knows that in order to earn trust he needs to show some trust first, but that doesn't make showing some of what he can do any less nerve-wracking. He decides to use his Air Trecks first to get that out of the way; a quick, high kick that produces a fast blast of razor-sharp air pressure at a tree. Strong enough to leave a mark, but not enough to damage.

After that he pulls out a small knife from a little sheath at his hip and promptly slices open his palm. Deep enough to hurt, though he doesn't flinch - just tosses the knife at the tree. It hits near where I kicked his Fang, but isn't exact. Good enough to hurt an enemy.

Finally, with his hands now free, he Bends some water out of the pouch he keeps on him and heals over his new cut.

It all takes a few minutes at most, and, once done, he shifts his weight from one leg to the other and back, feeling awkward. "That's basically all I can do, aside from mixed martial arts."

"Keep at it. I'll help out where I can," she says, though Nilin knows full well that she's got a lot of other things to worry about as well. This encounter is the start of what she hopes will help everyone around here.

When he cuts his hand, Nilin takes a step back. She doesn't like that one bit, example or not. "Why would you-" she starts, but silences herself as she watches the rest of the demonstration. When he heals himself, she's impressed but still bothered by how he went about it.

"You know, next time you could just tell me. I'd rather that than you slicing your flesh open."

"It's easier to just show than to tell," he says, not understanding why anyone would be bothered by it. He spent years being hurt in ways that never left him bleeding, but left him barely able to breathe for all the pain, and nobody cared. "Different healing methods have different rates of healing. Some might leave a scar, or lingering tenderness."
