Possession is 9/10 of the law

Situation: Wan is attempting to possess Asti; others are acting as distractions/helping power boost

The log is going to be broken up between the following Event 'points' just to manage them easier:

Pre-Possession Power-Up (Mingle for those powering up Wan before his group heads to the Turtle's Head)
Pre-Distraction Meet-Up (Mingle for the distraction teams to finalize tactics or throw caution to the wind)
Possession Attempt (The actual possession attempt)
Distraction Group One (Headed up by Dante, this group is going to be dealing with the cultists directly)
Distraction Group Two (Network distraction group and/or different group of cultists)
End of the Day (for people to deal with the fallout of the event if they want to do so in this log)

ANYONE can tag in and take part in any of the threads except the Possession Attempt itself - that's closed to Wan, Valdis, Zuko, and Katara so the group is small and less easily noticed.

[There were so many routes she could go from this point. Come up with the most asinine "rules" for him to be expected to follow. So ridiculous that he wouldn't be able to help himself in holding back laughter. Something to lighten the mood a little further.]

Well, for starters, I have to touch you.

[Mostly.]

And before you even consider making with the jokes, any physical contact will do. Though if there's a particular spot on your body that you channel energy through stronger than others, it would be helpful to know about.

Why would I joke about you touching me?

[He asked before he could stop himself, but then raised a hand and waved.]

Don't answer that. You can explain it later. I'm sure it's something to do with your world or this world and it'll probably take a while.

You can touch my Air Chakra. It's located at my heart. It's where Raava used to pass through me before we were bonded.

[Her mouth was already open to response when he'd held that hand up. Humph. Spoilsport.]

Air Chakra, huh? I have no idea what that means.

[Not entirely true. She could fathom a guess, but the terminology was very different from what she was used to; the moment Wan mentioned his heart, her eyes lowered to the faint outlines of his collar bone. Reaching up, she just barely brushed against his clothes as her finger traveled from the bone, down a few inches, pausing at an area slightly to one side of the middle of his chest.]

Here?

[Once again, not a tease. She needed to be sure.]

[Wan's hands flexed into fists for a moment when she first touched him before he managed to relax himself. She had to touch him for this. He could deal with it even if his first reflex was to pull away.

He took a deep breath as she asked and shook his head, then reached up to place his hand lightly over hers and move them back to the center of his chest and then up half an inch.]

It's not exactly at the heart. But it's close enough for most things. If you need this to be exact, then this is where you should touch.

[Like she said before, they needed to practice. Better he know now the then shock of sudden physical contact later on mess with the transferral process. At least, each and every time she'd ever touched Jack's conduit, they had been close enough that her hands were a familiar presence to him. She had Wan didn't have the luxury of successful spontaneity.]

A general area should be close enough. I think.

Like I said, I've never done this without a conduit before.

I don't understand what you mean by that.

[The term conduit was still very unfamiliar to him.]

But that's where Raava would pass through me to combine our energies when she exchanged the elements within me. I'm used to feeling it enter me that way.

It's like...

[Here, she paused, realizing that while she knew what she was talking about...it was actually kind of hard to put into words.]

You've seen Jack's staff, right?

Yes. He carries it everywhere.

[Like Wan would his teapot if Raava still needed to be in it.]

Well, that's his conduit. He uses it to channel energy so that whatever he's trying to do actually happens the way he wants, rather than having magic explode all at once.

Oh.

[Wan had not known that. Though he didn't use magic the way Jack and Zatanna did, he understood it was as close as they could get to the power of the elements he controlled. But with that clarification, he had to give the location for her to touch more thought. Magic could be considered something akin to the cosmic energies of the universe. And if that were the case, it would probably be easier on him if he received the power through his thought chakra.

Raava very much agreed. It was why she had preferred to enter his body through his head prior to Harmonic Convergence.]

Then I should sit down for this. You'll need to be touching the crown of my head.

[Most spells, she wouldn't have needed this. Conduits were used for control purposes. Magic so intense that it needed a precise amount of give and take. Like...like the training wheels on a bicycle, might be the closest analogy. One still needed to know how to ride, but that precise balance that got them up on those two wheels and stay there...that guidance and support...that's what she needed.]

[For both their sakes.]

Are you going to be okay with that?

Like you said..there'll be others trying to feed you at the same time. What works for me might not work for them.

Yes. I'll be in the Avatar State. None of the others have said they need to touch a specific place on me yet, so I don't think they need something as exact as you do. But even if something is a little off, Raava will be watching. She'll be able to figure it out. She hasn't done anything like this before, but she's always been able to adapt to this sort of thing quickly. The first time she passed through me to exchange the power of the elements was the first time anything like that had ever been attempted. She did just fine.

[The fact that she was being so specific...Wan might not recognize the signs, but it spoke more so of her own insecurities. The specification of a conduit...precise entrance points...she was just afraid that a lack of such clutches would result in her screwing up somehow. Using too much power. Or too little.]

[This type of magic was so above and beyond what she should have been practicing. Messing around with Jack was one thing. That was just a small spark. More like a simultaneous spell cast than anything. But to drain herself into Wan? It was only the desperation of the moment that led to her considering it at all.]

Alright. As long as you're sure.

So...when you go into the Avatar State...just kneel down, and I'll know you're ready for me. Deal?

I will.

[He nodded firmly.]

It won't be long now. Everyone knows when to get here, if they don't come, then they won't be.

Or they could be running late due to traffic?

I didn't say anything about why they weren't coming. I don't think anyone that said they would be here would not come on purpose. But I also can't wait for them if they aren't here on time.

...it was a joke, Wan.

[Which is precisely why she had otherwise been holding off until then to make one. Sigh.]

Never mind.

I get it. We're on a schedule. Everyone else probably gets it, too. I'll just be over here for when you need me, alright?

[He took a deep breath.]

I'm having trouble relaxing.

Try meditating. I hear that can help.

If I meditate, I'll enter the Avatar State early. Raava's my peace and when I focus on her, she comes out.

[She shook her head.]

Not intentionally, no.

But if that won't work...then I'm out of ideas. Sorry.

Don't worry about. I'll figure something out. And if I can't relax...

[Wan shrugged.]
