ENDPLOT | ROLL THE BONES, PART 1

Characters: ALL!
Date: Early/Mid November
Location: Under the shell
Situation: It's either Malicant or the Foreigners... and their worlds.
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.

The Foreigners had begun their counterattack by trying to possess the Great Turtle whom Malicant had taken, and although the movement had failed, some vital information had been uncovered. Under the shell lay Malicant's weakness, and inside the Dreaming was where he could be fought.

Any help from the kedan is uncommon. They're wary, watching, as a group beginning to lose sight of the community. Their family groups are more tightly-knit than ever, and any approach from the Foreigners is answered by suspicion at best and violence at worst. That makes daily life difficult, when the majority of the city refuses to have much to do with them. Why aren't you doing anything? they seem to say. What good are any of you? All you've done is make things worse. We'd be better if you'd never come.

The Foreigners are unwelcome in Keeliai. The cultists are becoming a majority. Now is the time.

There aren't many left of the Foreigners left, but inside the Dreaming the limitations of the waking world no longer exist. For every Foreigner and their worlds, their loved ones, this is the chance to make themselves safe for good. And all of them will be needed.

OOC
There are two main headers, one for preparation at the Hotel where Milyn and Eva will be available to speak with The second section where they will be able to search the caves beneath the Shell inside the Dreaming to find the Vilii Stone, and where the boon'd characters will be affected. If you are threading something that doesn't fit one of those categories, just add it to the bottom of the post. Questions go to the plotting post, please! Once the Stone has been acquired the second half of the plot will go live in the logs comm.

"Ah...," Ryou had never really been asked to give somebody a task before, T-RPG games aside. For a brief moment his surprise showed on his face before he steeled himself and continued on. "Well, let's see... We still haven't figure out what to do for traps. Do you have any ideas? I think something that can be used to warn everyone of possible ambushes would work best..."

From his belt, Don produces a nasty-looking assortment of caltrops and explosives. "I have these. Give me a few minutes and I can rig up something else."

Ryou leaned in to get a better look, his eyes wide. "Wow... That could work, but I'm a little cautious of using anything that will do more than just alert."

He raised a finger as he explained his point. "Like I said, some of these tunnels loop around. We don't want to set off our own traps, but maybe if you mark the walls where you set them..." His eyes returned to the chalk; there was an idea.
i_speak_softly: (I am thinking very seriously about this.)

Ah, right. Not everyone is a ninja.

He closes his eyes, thinking for a moment. "I can pair them with sensors that will ping my radio when someone passes by. Then I'll broadcast to get everyone's location. If none of ours report being at that sensor, I'll back-ping the bomb to blow it."

"...That works." And that was all Ryou really had to say to that, at least for a moment. He wasn't exactly a weapons expert, he just happened to be sitting with the role of stand-in strategist right now because he built the diorama and was familiar with the layout.

"We can use those, but setting off too many explosives in the tunnels might be dangerous. Do you have anything like a grenade that just makes noise? I think a combination of traps will work best, because that way they won't have a chance to get used to finding them before they blow up in their face."

"I can gut them into flash-bombs," Don says, but he doesn't look happy about the suggestion. He really, really wants to blow something up today.

Ryou smiled, well aware that Donatello didn't seem to love the idea, but glad that he seemed willing to compromise.

"If you could do that, that'd be great. Maybe 3 out of every 4 could be a flash bomb, and then you can use as many of those spiky things as you want for the rest."
i_speak_softly: (Doing heavy-duty work.)

A nod; he can live with that. He manifests some tiny tools from who-knows-where, and gets to work, leaning on the edge of the diorama and keeping an ear open for new visitors.
