ENDPLOT | ROLL THE BONES, PART 1

Situation: It's either Malicant or the Foreigners... and their worlds.

The Foreigners had begun their counterattack by trying to possess the Great Turtle whom Malicant had taken, and although the movement had failed, some vital information had been uncovered. Under the shell lay Malicant's weakness, and inside the Dreaming was where he could be fought.

Any help from the kedan is uncommon. They're wary, watching, as a group beginning to lose sight of the community. Their family groups are more tightly-knit than ever, and any approach from the Foreigners is answered by suspicion at best and violence at worst. That makes daily life difficult, when the majority of the city refuses to have much to do with them. Why aren't you doing anything? they seem to say. What good are any of you? All you've done is make things worse. We'd be better if you'd never come.

The Foreigners are unwelcome in Keeliai. The cultists are becoming a majority. Now is the time.

There aren't many left of the Foreigners left, but inside the Dreaming the limitations of the waking world no longer exist. For every Foreigner and their worlds, their loved ones, this is the chance to make themselves safe for good. And all of them will be needed.

Beneath The Shell/Midnight Hotel | Malicant’s Tools/The Vilii Stone | OOC Plot Post

There are two main headers, one for preparation at the Hotel where Milyn and Eva will be available to speak with The second section where they will be able to search the caves beneath the Shell inside the Dreaming to find the Vilii Stone, and where the boon'd characters will be affected. If you are threading something that doesn't fit one of those categories, just add it to the bottom of the post. Questions go to the plotting post, please! Once the Stone has been acquired the second half of the plot will go live in the logs comm.

Whoaaa Sokka! Slow your roll! Gene grins, clearly at least somewhat amused by Sokka's consternation. "Relax. I've had it in my system for months. Hasn't done me any harm. Or turned me into an...elephant rat."

[theideaguy]

"Okay..." he says slowly, trying his best to calm himself before making any more sudden leaps of logic. "So... we just put toxic substances into our bodies then... why?"

[wrathfulkhan]

"It helps to control the Dreaming plane. The creatures it comes from can move across the planes without difficulty, so the venom helps pass some of that ease onto us." Gene shrugs. "Figure we need all the help we can get against our enemy."

[theideaguy]

The Dreaming plane. He'd heard a little bit about that... waaaaaaay back at the beginning when he'd first got here, though he certainly didn't understand what exactly that meant at the beginning. But now it was starting to come into view. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan now," Sokka replies. "I think I could use all the venom I can get. I have enough weird dreams on my own when I'm just simply asleep."

"Not sure if it helps with normal dreams," Gene says. He gets a few nightmares of his own, from time to time. "But this should help. I could give you a few tips, if you want."

[theideaguy]

Sokka wasn't actually implying that this would help him with his normal dreams, just that he wasn't quite assured that those wild and zany dreams wouldn't somehow cross over into the Dreaming. "Well, I've never done anything quite like this before. Not that I really... know what I'm even getting myself into. So yeah, that'd help?"

[wrathfulkhan]

Gene laughs quietly. "I don't think any of us really know what we're getting ourselves into. If we had any sense, we'd run screaming for the hills. So what do you want to know? You know the basic principles of being in the Dreaming, right?"

[theideaguy]

"The teensy weensiest sense of it, yes," Sokka says, "though I'm not so certain I even believed all of that spiritual mumbo jumbo when they told me it when I got here. I mean, I was still just coming to grips with not being on an airship! But it was something about dreams that you can control with your mind without you actually being asleep; it's not actually a real place; oh and don't enter it willy nilly with anyone else unless you really mean it. But beyond that, I've got nothing on it."

[wrathfulkhan]

"Well, that sounds like a pretty accurate crash course," Gene says. "With the venom injection, you can control the environment a lot more than you'd be able to without, especially with our enemy focused on us. And I'm pretty sure that it's going to try and use the Dreaming against us."

[theideaguy]

"Well of course he will," Sokka says, half saying that as if it were completely obvious and half completely sarcastically, as if it were the worst news he ever heard. "Just because we suddenly have a sneaky strategy for defeating the Creep Lord doesn't mean that he's not going to let up on us." He sighs and turns around for a few moments to collect himself.

"At least this helps us fight back. I suppose I'll take a venomous substance if it means standing a fighting chance..."

[wrathfulkhan]

"Like I said," Gene says flippantly, "it probably won't hurt you. Hasn't done me any harm, anyway. And it's really our only chance."

[theideaguy]

"Yeah, yeah," he says with hardly any passion in his voice. "It's not like I can do anything about it now since this stuff is already in me, infecting all of my veins and corrupting me from the inside."

Is he being serious, or is he just being sarcastic? Or both? "Though if I die from this stuff, I'm reserving the right to tell you, 'I told you so.'"

[wrathfulkhan]

"If you die from this stuff, I won't begrudge you the satisfaction," Gene says, far too amused. He likes this kid. "But try not to. I'm pretty sure Evastelei would lose it."
