ENDPLOT | ROLL THE BONES, PART 1
Characters: ALL!
Date: Early/Mid November
Location: Under the shell
Situation: It's either Malicant or the Foreigners... and their worlds.
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.
The Foreigners had begun their counterattack by trying to possess the Great Turtle whom Malicant had taken, and although the movement had failed, some vital information had been uncovered. Under the shell lay Malicant's weakness, and inside the Dreaming was where he could be fought.
Any help from the kedan is uncommon. They're wary, watching, as a group beginning to lose sight of the community. Their family groups are more tightly-knit than ever, and any approach from the Foreigners is answered by suspicion at best and violence at worst. That makes daily life difficult, when the majority of the city refuses to have much to do with them. Why aren't you doing anything? they seem to say. What good are any of you? All you've done is make things worse. We'd be better if you'd never come.
The Foreigners are unwelcome in Keeliai. The cultists are becoming a majority. Now is the time.
There aren't many left of the Foreigners left, but inside the Dreaming the limitations of the waking world no longer exist. For every Foreigner and their worlds, their loved ones, this is the chance to make themselves safe for good. And all of them will be needed.

There are two main headers, one for preparation at the Hotel where Milyn and Eva will be available to speak with The second section where they will be able to search the caves beneath the Shell inside the Dreaming to find the Vilii Stone, and where the boon'd characters will be affected. If you are threading something that doesn't fit one of those categories, just add it to the bottom of the post. Questions go to the plotting post, please! Once the Stone has been acquired the second half of the plot will go live in the logs comm.

It was hard to focus on the fact that this person in particular was not her enemy. "The stone... where?"
That was their mission. It wasn't her job to fight, it was her job to seek the stone. If she could get there, things would be clearer, she was sure. If she could just keep herself pointed at that, it wouldn't matter that the blood in her ears was telling her that anyone armed was an enemy trying to attack her.

"It's right there!"

She was certainly going to give it a shot. She drew on her sorcery...
... she could get the control to lift, but that created currents of air rising out from her. "Blood of the Horse!" she swore, as she tried to reign in the spell to not knock everyone near her over and fan whatever flames were being used.

"If we can get over there," he says, pointing again, "I can give you a boost."

"Let's - figure it out when we get there!"
Sizing up the scene again, he starts dodging through the confusion, trying to reach the stone.

"I wonder... is knocking people down the same as harming them? I would pretend it wasn't."
She'd sworn not to harm residents of the Turtle with sorcery. But the rage was building again, and it was hard to remember that she must not hit anyone. Tazendra forced herself to sheathe her sword, and switch to the wooden practice 'sword' she'd picked up. Less likely to kill anyone with it.

Keeping his bo at the ready, and one eye on Tazendra, he makes his way towards the stone. Another Foreigner blocks his path, and he hesitates, looking for a way to avoid the confrontation.

Don leaps out of the way, then strikes with the long range of his bo, attempting to disable their opponent without hurting him too much. He's only known Tazendra for five minutes, but he doesn't really trust her to be similarly forgiving.

On the other hand, her focus on not attacking anyone she shouldn't, meant she nearly missed the energy attack. It was not a lethal blow, but it did knock her back and raise burns on her side and back as she twisted away. Not deep ones, but enough to be painful.
Tazendra dropped to a knee, quickly switching her blade to her other hand. She could feel the voice in her head urging her to unleash such sorcery on their opponent. She curled her injured hand into a fist, feeling the sharp pain, focusing it on that. "Leave me," she suggested. Whether she was talking to Malicant's influence or Don was hard to tell.

As the Foreigner powers up another attack, Don shoots Tazendra a desperate thought.
What should I do?
no subject
Tazendra brought up a spell to shield herself. she wasn't used to fighting defensively, but she knew a bit about how sieges worked, and that was part of it.
no subject
Trusting Tazendra at least to take care of herself, Don dodges around the Foreigner, knocks a few more out of his way, and uses his bo to vault over the brawl and grab the stone-piece. Tucking it securely into his belt, he turns back to see where his help is needed.
