[EVENT] A NEW WORLD ORDER
Characters: ALL!
Date: December 8, 2015 (with some starters for the following weeks)
Location: Keeliai, the Midnight Hotel, others
Situation: The Foreigners have awakened.
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.
They've been in the Dreaming for so long that when they wake up their bodies feel more like automatons, alien and ill-fitting. They haven’t atrophied, thanks to Milyn, but they’re stiff and a little bedsore, and the solidity of the Life Plane is jarring. Here, the surroundings don’t move on a whim. Here the world is more stable, almost harsh and unyielding in spite of the homey surrounds.
It’s been a year, says the clock on the mantle and on the second floor. Says Milyn, too, when she’s able to stop hugging them long enough to speak.
Nothing much has changed in the Midnight Hotel. There are dishes out of place, objects belonging to either Milyn or Eva in evidence, the diorama exactly where it had been but now brightly-painted thanks to Milyn's boredom. Milyn and Eva took a room each, in the time the Foreigners were sleeping, though neither used them much.
Eva’s upstairs, Milyn will tell anyone who asks. In her room.
Eva hasn't left that room in three days. She hasn't spoken in three days, either, or walked, or moved, or breathed. Her effects are neatly arranged around her bed, and the sheet has been pulled up. There is heavy incense in the room and Milyn has managed to preserve the body enough to remove the risk of too much mess (and other things). In a way, that makes it worse: as though Eva is sleeping. It’s difficult to tell whether Milyn is in denial or whether spending three days with no one to talk to other than sleeping Foreigners and a corpse has had its influence.

She looked up at Dante, her confusion clearly displayed on her face. "Why did you...?" She finally asked, yet she couldn't finish her question, her sorrow at losing Wan returning.

no subject
That would be just like Wan, always caring for others, even those who didn't deserve it. She managed to hold back the tears, she refused to cry in front of Dante and she refused to cry over someone who was gone. She needed to move on, but there was no reason for her to forget him. She held out her hands.
"May I?"
no subject
Dante knew the face of someone who was on the verge of tears, but didn't bring it up. She was proud, and implying that she was even remotely near crying might get him punched in the face. And then he might drop the teapot.
"That's the point, isn't it?" He handed it over.
no subject
"Thank you," she said quietly.
no subject
"If Wan ever comes back, thank him. It's his teapot." He nodded.
"I'd say 'go home before the kedan get any more bright ideas, but..." A pause for the obvious. "Besides, I'm sure it's nothing you can't handle."
no subject
"Don't worry about me," She replied, "If they try anything, they will quickly learn from their error."
no subject
"Well then, if your not worried, could I ask you about-" He stops in his tracks. Actually, this was a horrible time to talk about things. Valdis misses Wan so much she could cry, and he wants to talk about how they might have kissed? Not even Dante's that tactless. "You know what? Nevermind."
no subject
"Ok?" She said, still slightly confused, "I suppose I should put this someplace safe until I find a new place to live."
She looked back at the hotel, certain that Anton would keep it safe for her until she had a place for it.
no subject
"Huh? I figured you'd of all people would be able to threaten someone or something." Just in case Valdis needed confirmation that he was speaking to Dante. "I'd take it back to work with me but things are a bit complicated right now."
no subject
"I am able," She replied, "But I don't usually dive headlong into things such as this when my opponents are so unpredictable. I need to learn more about them first."
A major contrast to the man she was talking to. She held back a laugh when he made reference to Skulduggery's dream.
"It's all in your head, you know," She said, "That is just how Anton is."
no subject
"Besides, of all the dreams I'd want to talk about, that's not exactly high on my list right now." Well, if he has to change the subject, this is as good as anything. "I mean, I wasn't going to bring it up, but I have some pretty clear memories of you kissing me."
no subject
She had, but that wasn't the point. The point was that she would deny having done so to her dying breath.
no subject
"But it can't be you. The woman in my dreams was way too nice." But that won't stop him from being an ass.
no subject
"Well then," She replied, "That should have been a dead giveaway."
She was honestly tired of her current mental state, these emotions felt wrong. She needed to get back into the game and forget about feelings.
no subject
"So I got a little stressed out and had a bit of a daydream, then. Well, that's good to know." He mused aloud. "So as long as that's cleared up, we don't have that much else to talk about."
no subject
"I suppose not," She replied, holding the teapot close, "I'll see you around then." She turned away, heading back into the hotel to find a safe place to keep Wan's gift.
