Better nate than lever

Characters: Aang and...you?
Date: *cough*January*cough*
Location: Outskirts of the Metal Sector
Situation: Aang has just arrived, his memory is a bit fuzzy.
Warnings/Rating: None yet, but we'll keep you posted

"Tell me, then. What are the terms of your agreement?" he asked the other Avatar seated across the table from him. Not just any other Avatar, but Yang Chen the Air Nomad that had preceded him in the cycle.

"First," she started to respond, but was cut short when the earth beneath them moved. No, that wasn't right. It didn't move, it jolted. And not like any earthquake that Aang had ever felt before. Something was wrong. Very very wrong, and he didn't need Yang Chen's expression to tell him so.

There was a loud crack and then....everything around Aang went white.
Something had pulled him from the Spirit World and thrown him back into his body...hard.

His eyes hurt as he opened them, the light of day blinding his vision until he adjusted. The ground...wait, why was there light of day at all? He was in a restaurant with the Air Acolytes. Why ground? Where were the floorboards?

Aang's mind reeled. None of this was right. His first attempt at sitting up resulted in a wave of nausea that kept him down for another ten count. Steeling his resolve, as well as his stomach, he finally managed to sit, and then eventually stand.

The world around him was not the one he started from. This wasn't the town or the refinery.
Maybe this was a glimpse of the future?

"Yang Chen?" he called to no one in particular...

The moment Aang's spirit arrived on the turtle, Wan was aware of it. The tug on his soul was undeniable and he dropped what he was doing (literally. he'd apologize to Zuko about the broken plates in the kitchen later) to fly out the door and head on over. It took him several minutes to get there, even flying as fast as he safely could, but it was mostly during the time Aang was pushing the nausea down.

When he landed, he was all smiles and there was no hesitation as he ran over and pulled his future life into a hug, "Aang!"

It was only by chance Midii happened to be nearby.

The first time the boy sat up, she would have thought little more of it...except then he went right back down again. And stayed down for several seconds. Watching him rise to his feet was telling. He must have been either sick or injured.

"Whoever that is, they're not here." She approached cautiously, keeping her distance and her voice soft. "Are you alright?"

Enjolras had gone out the door to the Metal Sector and been making his way through it, somewhat idiotically, actually, in the hopes of gaining information, a notepad and pen in hand. And that was when he noticed someone who looked actually incredibly lost just now.

The name that he was calling seemed...at least similar to names Sokka had mentioned, and though that didn't mean very much one way or another, perhaps if he was not from the same place, Sokka could help him in terms of languages or...something. At any rate, he calmly stepped towards the young man.

"I've not met anyone here by that name just yet." He answered. "But then, things here do move quickly. Are you new, by chance?"

Sokka didn't find Aang for at least a few hours at best. He didn't have any sort of spiritual connection to him to figure out that he'd returned. He didn't have any way of knowing since Aang's stuff also wasn't here. And so Sokka was just going on about doing Sokka-related things.

That is until he happened to run into him on the streets near one of the entrances to the Midnight Hotel. He found one vendor of delicious delicious meats that wasn't charging too ridiculous of a price, and so Sokka was abusing the chance to get some good food. He's practically mid-chew when he sees Aang coming down the street.

"Aang?"

Katara had recently made it a habit of losing herself. Not to the point where she couldn't return home, or at least to the hotel that she had begun to call home for now, but often just enough to rid herself of the pressure she felt around the few people she had left.

Sort of.

When she felt she was lost enough for the day, she would return to the river, though not in the same place as before. It would be there that she could be found almost dancing, lifting the water around her as she moved in one smooth motion to the next, welcoming the familiar sensation of the river rushing around her body and through the air around her, its sound blocking out the unwelcome mix of feelings that had settled in her head and heart, its fluid power cleansing her of uncertainty. This she knew. This was something she would never again second guess.

A dusting of snow covered the low branches sweeping near the shore and the ground around her, evidence of the hours she had likely spent there. There she could be found, her eyes closed in concentration as she let it take her under.
