Ever since his return Aang had been warned not to return to the Turtle's Head, that his favorite meditation spot had been sullied somehow, and so he stayed away. Eventually he'd even allowed himself to get distracted to the point of forgetting about going back.

Then his soul gem was stolen and cracked, and randomly he met his adult son, and well...reclaiming once broken and sullied things to return them to their former glory wound up on his mind.

Which is why Aang can be found praying among sticks of burning incense at the Turtle's Head from sunset until moonrise on the days of the full and new moon. Ideally he would not be the only Air Nomad to perform this cleansing ritual, but the world is an ideal place and so he goes it alone...or does he?

A. OTA - No matter the day, even if it's raining, Toph can likely be found somewhere on the Turtle, training in one of the disciplines: earthbending, metalbending, sandbending, or blind combat. Interruptions or onlookers are not a problem; she's more than happy to have an audience -- and will even have the tendency to show off if she discovers someone watching.

B. OTA - During her previous visit to the Turtle, the kedan gang activity was of interest to Toph -- something to keep at least a halfway decent idea of during her tenure, if only for her own interests. The new Keelai is different, though . . . and something that needs to be re-explored and understood, especially in light of people running around stealing soul gems. Feel free to run into Toph at nearly any hour (even wee hours of the morning) in some of the more dangerous sections of the city, poking around and possibly getting herself into shenanigans. (Hey, I did promise shenanigans up above.)

Situation: Random encounters and Zuko approaching certain NPCs.

Things had been going fairly smoothly and quietly for Zuko thus far since his return to the turtle. A far cry from his last experience here when Malicant was still around. But apparently some higher power must have thought he'd had it too easy.

While construction went on at the Palace, Zuko found himself uninterested in it for the most part. Having mixed feelings about tearing down the structure. Thus while the demolition happened, he sought other things to do while it went on. This included spending time outside the city with Druk, or looking for the best meat prices to feed Druk, or trying to teach Druk how to control his fire better. Lots of Druk. The little dragon is growing fast. To the point he's almost too big to sit on Zuko's shoulder now, being about the size of a small dog.

Zuko was also out doing these things when the Quarantine went up, preventing him from going back to the demolition sight, and subsequently... his boyfriend. The doctors had given him a clean bill of health, but his mood sours noticeably as he worries about Wan. Thus he has to find other things to occupy his time, and others to talk to.

Situation: It’s cold. Time to cuddle up and make bonfires for the warmth.
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.

As night falls the city’s lights take something of a unique turn. Instead of being lit by millions of paper lanterns, Keeliai is tonight lit by the flames and warmth of dozens if not hundreds of fires. Some of them are small, not much more than warming hearths in a barrel on a street, but others encompass squares and boulevards.

The fire lighting procession winds through the city’s streets, beginning at the first bonfire in Fire Sector. By the time full night has arrived, that procession is a snake illuminated by dozens of torches, parting from the main parade to light smaller fires in smaller streets. It ends, finally, in Central, in the Courtyard of Public Opinion, whose bonfire is second only to the initiating one in Fire Sector.

In some areas an exchange of goods arises, mostly in terms of woollens and other warm clothes and blankets. Though food is considered a public resource on this occasion, bartering small knickknacks, songs, stories and even other woollen items is not uncommon an exchange.

Meals are shared among kedan and Foreigners, commoners and emissaries--primarily stews, soups and other foods easily baked in the coals of the fires. Everyone brings food, and what isn’t contributed to the pot is nevertheless shared around after preparation. Although some bonfires are markedly wealthier than others, food and shelter is spread around to make sure everyone is safe and warm. No one goes cold and alone on this night.

[After the races were over and Zuko had had a day to rest from the race and the feast that came right after, Wan insisted he come with him to the Palace of Landed Sky. They'd both been back in Keeliai for about a month and finding regular jobs to keep themselves fed and buy a few necessary possessions hadn't exactly been easy. They'd spent the time between the forum and the race working themselves to exhaustion just to earn the entrance fee for Zuko. They didn't exactly have a direction for what to do and it had gotten to the point that Wan was tired of feeling like he was 'drifting'. His life on the turtle didn't feel like it had purpose. So he decided to find one for himself.

Which was what led to exploring the palace. In the short term, it would give him a goal of making it livable if it wasn't bad off. Also, the garden would be a good place to meditate and grow a little food of their own until they could show they were trust-worthy enough to hire on a regular basis.]

Wow. The Kedan haven't been kind to this place, have they?

[Wan asked as he stared up at what was left of the outer walls and terraces. The fine marble that had once adorned it had been completely stripped away and didn't speak well of what might be left further in, past the most accessible part of the outer palace.]

After the assassination attempt on Zuko that resulted in Wan getting stabbed in the side. He and Aang 'traded' duties in caring for and watching over Katara. Which wasn't so much a trade as Wan being unable to actually watch over Zuko until he was healed and Aang volunteering to take over for during that time. Wan had little ability to reject as he'd been unconscious when the decision was made. But now that it was, he and the water tribe siblings spent a few on again/off again days at each other's homes. Getting to know each other in one of the most forced manners possible.

Ever since the fight at the hotel, Zuko has been struggling with his wound and the poison that managed to infect him. Katara had insisted on staying with him, healing him as often as he needed it, and just being supportive. She rarely ever leaves him alone, even as he proved to be difficult to deal with. His constant pain, the nightmares, and violent urges are making life hard for both of them.

Whenever Katara needs to go somewhere, like back to her place, he goes with her. She doesn't really leave him much choice, even if there's a yelling match over it.

Thus they both can be found in various places on the turtle, but mostly at his place or hers.
