February Catch All
Characters: Nelo Angelo/Vergil, and open!
Date: Throughout Febuary.
Location: Around the Shell, and Evidet.
Situation: Random things that Nelo Angelo does to pass time.
Warnings/Rating: No warnings.
Scrap yard
After aquiring a coat from the money from the scrap he had collected with Valdis when she found Revelations, he headed back out that way. Simply to look around more then anything else. The cold nipped at his face but it wasn't as bad as he expected it to be. He looked around, keeping Valdis' warning to not take too much in mind still. A little more money would be nice, since he was still a little worried about taking work from the Kedan after he got ripped off last time. It had been embarrassing to say the least, a knight of Mundus' army ripped off by a shop keeper.
Every now and then he would look up at the sky watching the snow fall, as if spacing out watching it. Snow was like rain to him, something he had heard of but not seen before coming to this world. It fascinated him. He would randomly hold a hand out to catch some of the falling flakes.
Marketplace
Having sold off more of the collected scrap, Nelo was walking around his hands in his pockets looking over items for sale. He avoided a certain shop of course, he didn't want to deal with anything that shop keep might have had to say. He was looking for more books in a language he could read, which was not exactly an easy thing.
He kept looking up to the rooftops wondering if any of the people he had met when he was people watching were around anywhere, and the kind dark haired girl who had been concerned over his headache. The people here were so kind at times he didn't know how to take it. It was strange but nice. He still expected the other shoe to drop soon, but he was hoping it didn't.
Midnight Hotel Lobby & Room
Making his way in after a long day of wandering the shell and Khatronma he shook some snow off his coat and out of his hair, kicking snow off his boots, he made his way inside. A couple things in a bag in his hand. He looked around when he entered, looking for Anton or Dante. If he saw either he would walk to them to at least say hello.
Otherwise, he made his way up the stairs to his room. This is where he spent most of his time. Either rereading the cook book he had bought or carefully practicing with the zweihänder blade, always super careful not to hit anything or make too much noise. He didn't want to let his skills weaken by idleness, but he had promised no violence in the hotel. So he had to be careful in these times.
Sometimes he just tried to sleep, and that was when Mundus seemed to invade his dreams, it was not really Mundus of course. He would wake in a panic and remember exactly why he should not be lowering his guard so much. It was a hard thing to keep on guard all the time wen people made it so easy to let them close. Mundus was a good reminder of why he couldn't allow himself to be soft like that. It was never a good idea.
Midnight Hotel Kitchen
Every few nights he could be found in the kitchen experimenting between the cook book's orders, and whatever Dante had brought home that day. He found a nice zen when cooking. It was a useful skill he had never had a need for before he awoke on the shell. Since arriving his color was improving a little. He hadn't gained much weight but he didn't look as bad as he did when he arrived and first started moving around without his armor.
On nights that he was by himself or had bought something himself to cook he was willing to share. To have someone test what he made.

She sighed and the darkness began to lift, her eyes fading back to their normal color, "What would you know of emotional compromise?" she asked, "You love only power and wade through a river of blood to reach it, even the blood of those whom your brother supposedly loved. Would you have waded through his too if it would have given you more power?"

"How dare you," she said, icy calm, "I do not believe for one moment that he left me willingly. I do not trust others easily, Vergil, especially not with something as fragile as the balance between darkness and light. But I trusted Dante. I trusted him to the point that he would have been able to grasp Revelations and use its power without harming himself, and he betrayed that trust when he lied to me about your true nature. He may have loved me, but he also used me and that is unforgivable in my eyes."

"He's a fool, I can tell you without a doubt he did not intend to use you, woman. He sees the best, hopes for the best. Likely suspected better of me. And I bet he lies about me enough as it is. He does it to protect himself, to guard his heart. As I said he is not as complex as one may think. He is a good man, one who has lost too much, hurt too much." He turned to walk from her, just to look up at the window, for a moment pain had flashed in his eyes before he turned away.
"If he returned, could you truly stay mad at him?" He spoke, his tone still more nasally but it had Nelo's curiosity laced in it. "Can you truly stay mad when he had the best of intentions. A scared manchild trying his best to keep together what little he has."

"I would try," she finally replied, "I would try to hold onto my anger, try to justify my lack of trust, but..." she hesitated, her features softening as she let the silence hang for several heartbeats, "Sooner or later he would win me over. That's just who he is."
Then her voice became hard, "You speak of him now with regret in your voice and pain in your heart and yet the first thing you did when released was try to murder someone. How could you repay his love for you in such a way?"
She was perfectly aware of how hypocritical that sounded. Twisted as it might have been, when she had reached for the lives of Keeliai, it hadn't been with the intent of murder, it had been desperation for a solution to end the pain.

"Yes, that is who he is. Even when you want to kill him you never can. He worms his way in. He meant well, blinded by his own selfish pain. I do not doubt a moment that his love for you was not genuine, He spoke of you more then once, believed you to be with the man Wan." Nelo had planned to kill Wan for Dante without telling him, but meeting want killed that plan. The man was far too kind, and mentioned a boyfriend. Nothing on Valdis looks male...
"This is just how I am, asking me to explain that is like asking why Caligula sent troops to fightthe sea. It will never make sense." He wouldn't look at her, he stood, poised looking to the sky through the window. Nelo Angelo had tended to slouch, but Vergil held pride.

He loved his brother in a strange distant way. He would likely never be comfortable talking about that but as it stood he looked at her. Funny how many times Dante has asked if he is insane, and now here it is the man's love saying she doesn't think he is.
"What is Sanity?" It was always his answer.

"It should have killed me. After all Mundus did I should not have survived that." He spoke honestly, he knew she would know if he lied. "Why did you ask her that? It made no sense."
no subject
"It is what Dante would have done..."

Damn he would have, Dante would have died for either of them to know they both lived a day more even if Vergil certainly didn't deserve it.
He finally moved and took a seat in one of the chairs, his eyes staying on her for now. He had weapons, he had weapons even when unarmed thanks to his magic, but he had no plans to attack her, that was purged out of his system. "I have no idea what else I can say." Conversation is not his skill.

"Since we both loved your brother, I see no reason as to why we cannot continue on as allies. Just..." she sighed and sat back down, "Don't dishonor him by giving in to your darkness."
no subject
"I do not do it for him, but for myself. I have no desire to return down that path again. I have seen what it brings." Nelo's influence was good at least.

He looked to her then. "It is a shame, he seemed a good man. Though I will not seek him. If he comes for me I do promise not to attack." Only because he feels he owes her.
