[EVENT|4TH WALL] THE NEWCOMERS’ ARRIVAL | APRIL 15-22
Characters: ALL and plus ones.
Date: April 15-22 2015 (2016 in-game)
Location: Farmlands outside the city walls, but this log can also be used for locations within the city.
Situation: Spring planting - fourth wall event, week one!
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.
The days for the festival dawn sunny if a bit chilly, but the air is clear and the soggy ground has dried enough that there isn’t too much mud in the lanes between fields and homesteads. The broad dirt path to the Woodsmen’s land leads past the tram-line construction, lined with waving ribbons on sticks along the sides. The Woodsmen’s territory circles the city, separated from the city’s walls by five hundred yards of neutral land.
The festival’s central area is Liangken’s Clearing, and this is where the festival will begin and end each day. Liangken is an ancient tree, among the oldest on the turtle’s back. Though it doesn’t flower or bear much in the way of leaves anymore, the kedan have cultivated it carefully and now it’s an excellent representation for the revitalisation of old wisdom.

The lanes between the fields and homesteads will house the stalls, contests and walking areas. The Woodsmen will be keeping an eye on these to prevent anyone from walking off the marked paths. The homesteads provide ‘hotspots’ in among the lanes and fields, with Woodsmen families lending their yards to the comfort and entertainment of their guests.
In general, the Woodsmen are a taciturn, soft-spoken lot who nevertheless take great pride in their work. Their lands are all but sacred -- they accept no attitude, no trespassing, no attempts to thwart their authority. This causes some noticeable tension with the Snakes, who are accustomed to being the sole enforcers within the city; but though there may be some ill tempers and raised voices, at no point will anyone come to blows. It’s hard to argue with someone built like a brick wall and carrying sharp farm implements.
The Woodsmen are a touch anxious about having strangers on their land and this shows in them being overly officious or bossy, but at the same time their pride shows clearly and they are eager to show off the state of their lands, their greenhouses, and their farming processes -- practically without being asked. The residents of Keeliai tend to think of the Woodsmen as ‘cowards’, and the Woodsmen are taking this opportunity to prove themselves otherwise with feats of strength and tall tales.
Due to the farmers’ hours of “early to bed and early to rise”, the festival ends in the early evening at sundown, but begins again before dawn -- usually by greeting the sun with a song.

While Heojin and his bodyguards are open to everyone (including fourth-wall characters!), they are not available for small talk and general directionless CR. For the integrity of the mod’s inbox, please only request a thread with him if you already have an idea of what you’d like your character to ask/do. Other NPCs can be requested by sending a PM to the appropriate journals directly, with the same guidelines.
The top-level comments are for the festival, but fourth-wall characters should feel free to use the rest of the post for anything within the city of Keeliai itself! Just remember to label the top-level comment for location and date.

"Oh so someone just came up in the middle of the night and clamped some random jewellery onto your neck, and you've just left it on ever since?" Rita says with a rather high degree of scepticism.
And it's then when Rita seems Yeager just trying to casually make his exit out of the scene. With a quick run, she unfurls the scroll and wraps it around Yeager's leg before giving it a huge tug to pull him back to this little party. "Hey, who gave you permission to leave? We're not quite done with you."
And it's finally then when the Woodsmen are going to leer over the conversation. "We're going to have to ask you cease your fighting this instant or else."
Please, Yuri, please answer these people before Rita opens her big mouth.
no subject
That's kinda exactly what happened. He just woke up with this thing. But before he can elaborate, Yeager is sneaking off and Rita is making a scene. And was the Woodsmen come over, Yuri glances at them before heaving a dramatic sigh.
"Hey these guys just got here, cut them a little slack. Besides, if this was a fight, there would be a lot of explosions right about now. We're just having a conversation with an old 'friend'."
no subject
He's rolling with it and totally just laying there now.
"It is true~" Yeager raises a hand. "The young lady is quite good at explosions, so, there is nothing to fear! She's quite good at not exploding things around people she doesn't mean to!" Like.
All these civilians. Rita isn't Yeager, after all.
no subject
"Alright, but we'll be watching you," the Woodsman says, specifically pointing to and looking straight at Rita instead of the other two. "One foot out of line, and you'll be in deep trouble."
"Yeah, you just try it, and we'll see who goes walking away limping."
Yeah, Rita's not in a mood to deal with this.
"Okay, now where were we? Right. Yuri, do you mind explaining to my prisoner and I here where exactly we are, and just how it's not this guy's fault that he's still alive."
no subject
"Yeah about that. It's going to sound pretty crazy."
Because it was crazy.
"So... we're kinda on the back of a giant turtle."
no subject
"Better than a giant beetle~" .... Heracles. Get it?
... Did they really expect him to contribute something useful to this- He's soaking up the information to compare it to what he can get later when he is hopefully out of reach of Rita and Yuri.
[gagtag]
So what if it's the wrong Tales game? Sue me.
no subject
"A giant turtle," Rita says completely deadpan. Yeah. Granted, Yeager's point almost stands. Almost. "Well that explains why none of this is familiar at all despite us having travelled literally everywhere. What still doesn't make sense is why this guy's still alive. Or why we're on the back of some huge Entelexia."
no subject
"And we're not in Terca Lumireis anymore either. This is kind of a different world all together."
Kinda? How about it IS a completely different world. But well, whatever, words.
no subject
"So then, it is something about this place. You liebchens are clearly already done cheering over my poor cold body." Not really, they'd been demanding answers- "While I am having so many memories stirred of merely hitting the floor~" Due to having hit it again very recently, thanks no thanks Rita.
"Or maybe you have finished re-sizing commandant britches too." Flapping a hand. Its not really relevant to him, the impression is.
I totally missed the R in britches like five times. I was very confused.
Now Rita...
"Seriously, how is that even possible, that somehow all of us can get swept up from one world and planted down in some other completely different world? There's nothing in all the equations I know to even support such a finding!"
And if that's not enough, then Yeager has to pipe up with his stupid little voice.
"Well it looks like you're lucky day anyway," Rita says with more than a little annoyance. "Not like we could just dispatch you right here with the Sunshine Brigade keeping the peace." With that, she yanks hard on the scarf and pulls it free from Yeager. "But so help me if I hear a peep out of you while I'm here..."
no subject
Then his gaze turns down to Yeager.
"Yeah, what she said."
He was going to keep an eye on that guy for sure. But circumstances being what they were, he wasn't going to watch him too closely.
