Situation: Tu Vishan has washed up near the cities of Atoce and Uessaire.

The cities of Zeshora were renowned across all of Konryu as works of art, and even with the upheaval which sank and destroyed many of them centuries prior, that distinction remains evident. The Erol'a will recount, if asked, a terrible series of earthquakes and resultant tsunamis that rolled over Zeshora, and how great chunks of the continent simply dropped away. Zeshora was one of the oldest continents, and its landmasses upon the backs of long-dead Great Turtles had been so constant, that no one had even thought it possible such a thing could have happened.

Testament to the Erol'a's resilience however, they adapted and reclaimed the cities that had fallen to, or just below, sea level. Arches, pillars and soaring ceilings dominate the architecture in both cities, and every surface is painstakingly decorated with tiny inlaid shells and coral, turning every hall and room into a mosaic of colour. It's not uncommon for Erol'a dwellings to have multiple stories, and likewise it's not unlikely to have at least a few of those levels under sea level. So it's entirely possible to have one's upstairs be above water, and one's downstairs be below the water! Imagine having to take a swim to get a midnight snack. Of course, the Erol'a don't find that strange at all. Likewise, it's perfectly normal to them to walk down the hallways of their homes in ankle, knee or waist-deep water, something that the Foreigners and even some kedan might take some getting used to. The water temperature during the day is a delightful 80℉/26℃, and about ten degrees cooler throughout the night, so it's pleasant for nearly everyone.

Iroh has attracted some of the same attention, as a Foreign adult who actually doesn't seem to mind being ordered about by the local children, though he can be seen to deflect a few requests with good humor and enough skill that the child assumes the change was mostly their idea.

Right now, he's been learning a board game from some of the children, but he waves to Anton. "This is certainly an interesting place, isn't it?"

"It is quite curious," Anton agreed with a smile, pausing and nodding acknowledgement. He has a young girl on his shoulders and another by the hand, and is laden with a string bag made of dried and woven seaweed. Most of the packages inside are candy-related, though Anton managed to make a few 'suggestions' for healthier additions.

"Ooh, you're playing--" The older girl tugs Anton closer and peers down at the board. "You're about to lose." She points to the pieces belonging to Iroh's opponent.

"Hmm?" Iroh said. "Well, yes, those are concerning." His opponent grinned and moved one of her pieces.

"Very concerning indeed. Ah, well, I am still learning. It's only natural that I shouldn't be able to surpass my teacher so quickly."

"I could play better than that," said Anton's elder companion smugly, sitting down and turning the board so it faced her and Iroh's opponent. "May I have the candied seaweed? You can have some too."

This last was said to her opponent, and Anton obediently found the packet and put it on the table, passing a long strand up to the child on his shoulders. He asked Iroh, "Where have you visited thus far?"

"I would like to watch, if you don't mind," Iroh said. "You are never too old to learn something from people."

He nodded to Anton. "Mostly I've been just exploring. Getting to know so many of the people here. Yourself?"

[gistful]

"Much the same," said Anton. "It's pleasant, being on the shoreline again." It was a very different shoreline to Ireland, but rather akin to various other places he had been--though none of them had the soaring ziggurat.

"You can watch," said the girl tolerantly, and she looked up at Anton. "Take my sister home," she instructed. "She needs to nap soon or she'll cry all day, and that's boring."

"Of course." Anton bowed.

Iroh waved to him. "It sounds as if you have to get going. Naps wait for no man."

[gistful]

"No indeed, they do not," said Anton dryly. The little girl was still gripping his head, but she was also slumped over it, her weight settling in the way of tired children. Best get her home quickly. He lifted a hand in lieu of being able to nod.

"Good luck in your game," he said, and turned to make his careful, shopping-laden way down the street.

iroh waved back and returned to studying the game.
