You and I were Fireworks// July Catch-All ~ [Open]
Characters: Dove and YOU (Open)
Date: All of July!
Location: Anyplace!
Situation: Anything!
Warnings/Rating: In headers
A. Pretty much anywhere/BEFORE the turtle terror vision, 5th of July
She was having a good day. She was having a very, very good day. Nevermind the distant look on her face-- she was softly smiling more often than not. She definitely looked distracted--maybe more than distracted-- but there was a certain glow around her as she alighted in each sector throughout the day. Anyone passing by might also notice that she's absently playing with the soul gem around her neck more often than not...
B. Midnight Hotel/CLOSED/July 6-9
((During these days, Dove will be entirely indisposed, in her room, away from everyone...unless they come find her.))
Unable to block the surge of terrible emotion washing over the turtle from wracking her mind and cursed with the inability to stop the vision from constantly plaguing her, Dove was more than crippled. The thought of leaving her room didn't even pass through her head as she laid where she was, having crumpled to her knees the moment the vision had started.
Five children... children...
Helpless children.
Never mind that they were turtles.... they were young souls, just like the ones she had guarded all her life. That, coupled with the overwhelming horror of the darkness and the intensity of the vision direct into her mind...
For the second time in her life, the angel was cold, and the storms outside did nothing to help.
C. HEALERS GUILD/After the Toddler Turtle Terror/July 10 onward
She had to return to her job, regardless of the consequences. If they no longer wanted to pay her... so be it. She'd volunteer her help. Anything to help, after... after that.
Those at the Healing Guild would notice a definite difference in the angel, even if they had only ever seen her once. The smiles she offered were tired and weak, despite her valiant attempt to stay light. She was slowly regaining her footing, but she was quiet... much quieter than the happy-go-lucky, bright and bubbly healer she had been over the past few weeks. Kind, yes, and diligent in her work... but quiet.
D. Large Grassy Area outside the city/Slightly happier times
She liked being inside the hustle and bustle of the city most days, but could rarely resist the pull of nature, especially when she was so very overwhelmed.
She wouldn't be alone this time though. As she flew out of the city, a radiant bird the size of a large eagle flew with her, his red and golden plumes shining in the sunlight as they soared.
E. Anything else! :)

He wasn't being serious of course, but hey. Once they did get to her door he paused. ... Uh. Yeah he can't really open with her in his arms, and he doesn't have the key anyway. So he'll be putting her down now.
no subject
She let her eyes travel over him, playfully appraising him. "...at least you look like you've got potential...rogue loner and all that..."
no subject
"Don't rely only on what you see in front of you, an expert should know that."
no subject
Multiple questions shot through her head as her heart rate picked up. Was he serious? Had she taken her flirting too far? ...why did she suddenly realize she wanted to push it more? ...what was more? Did she want that here? What even was this.
Life was too short for so many questions, though she'd remain inwardly cautious, she decided.
After a moment of stunned silence, she softened the smallest bit, though her gaze still held challenge. "I'd be interested to see you prove me wrong, Mr. Lowell," she told him softly, her voice across between professional and purr. "But rest assured you're not the only one with surprises to offer, and I rarely take anything at face value."
no subject
With that he let go of her hand and moved back again to stand behind her with that hand on his hip instead.
Though in the back of his mind he was wondering what in the world he was getting himself into.
no subject
Why was this so different, then?
Regardless of her weighing, she stepped inside, leaving the door open for him. "So what's your first move, Romeo?" she taunted, grinning back at him. "Or was holding my hand a and not letting me into my apartment supposed to make me swoon?"
no subject
He then snorted a little indignantly.
"Oh c'mon, I saw that look on your face," he teased back. "You have to admit that it did something."
Now she was just making fun of him and he was having none of it. Though it was all still in good fun. This clear as he leaned with his arm against her doorway.
no subject
She grinned amusedly at him. "Maybe after all that talk of manners I was just surprised at the audacity of your not allowing a lady into her room," she shrugged, turning to face him and lightly crossing her arms.
Lying, and not even through her teeth. But it was all in good fun.
no subject
Naturally he wouldn't know that it's a play.
"Yeah, I don't think so," he said before finally pushing off her doorway and walking into her room.
no subject
She sighed and gave him a softened and almost genuine pitying look. "It's a play."
But she'd leave it at that, especially as he was closing the space between them.
"What makes you say that?" she quipped, her head tilting to the side. "I'm an angel-- don't you believe me?"
no subject
"You're an angel," he said back. "It makes you a really bad liar."
Practically turning her words from earlier back on her.
no subject
She considered it a moment, then shrugged and nodded before looking up at him. "Touché."
no subject
"So you actually got a window in here. Nice."
He was a little jealous actually. Yuri didn't have a window in his room, so he didn't have the luxury of looking outside.
no subject
This room was much better than the dormitory state she had been living in. As he glanced around, he would also notice multiple trinkets, each carefully organized and put in their proper place, a double bed, and the photo album she had found at the yard sale, hidden purposefully behind a bowl of fresh flowers.
no subject
He didn't touch any of her things though. Politely keeping his hands to himself as he didn't know what was personal and what wasn't.
no subject
It still didn't feel quite like home, but she was comfortable. Or would have been, had she not been standing in a room anticipating Yuri's next move.
no subject
Whether he noticed her anticipation or not he didn't let on. He looked around a little more before moving over to the bed and then flopping down on it.
Stretching out, he made himself comfortable, folding his arms behind his head. Like it was perfectly natural for him to be laying on someone else's bed.
no subject
When he flipped across her bed, she blinked, failed miserably to bite back a flow of giggles, and headed over to close her door, giving him a fond look over her shoulder."No, please--by all means, make yourself comfortable..." she told him, terribly, terribly amused.
no subject
"Hey we're even now, right?"
After all, she had been in his bed. It seemed only fair that he helped himself to hers.
PG-13 (but going no further!)
Don't mind her, Yuri. She's just wearing an extremely luxurious low backed bra that just so happens to strap perfectly around her waist. Never mind that it's deep blue.
no subject
Yuri didn't hold back his stare as Dove pulled off her tunic, his eyes wandering a bit. Its not like he wasn't used to seeing certain women wearing almost nothing but still... Wow.
"Very nice," he complimented sincerely.
Yeah that seems a bit more accurate.
no subject
No matter. He didn't intend her any harm; she would have felt it if he did, she was sure.
"Thank you," she giggled softly, tossing her hair back over her shoulder before crossing her arms over her torso. "I know it's not exactly a perfect recreation, but..." Her eyes lit up with humor as she stepped closer. "I wasn't sure we were ready for that yet."
A pause. "Now is this where I make the joke about not being interested?" she asked 'seriously,' twirling a lock of hair around her finger, "Or was that after the room service comment...?"
no subject
Instead he just continued to casually lie there with his hands safely behind his head.
"That depends if you still want to work on that mouth of mine," he said with that same smirk.
A short laugh escaping him at her jokes.
"I think I'd lose all confidence in myself as a man if I wasn't interested."
no subject
The thought made her blush a little. What he said next made her face flood pink.
She gave a soft snort. "I can't tell if you do this often, or if you're really just that clever," she grinned, hopping over him to land on the open side of the bed, folding her arms demurely across her chest as she lifted herself on her elbows. "And honestly speaking, I think most would."
no subject
When she dropped onto the bed next to him, Yuri turned sideways and propped up his elbow to rest his head in his hand.
"I like to think I'm just clever," he retorted. Because yeah no he doesn't do this very often. When it came to this kind of stuff he didn't really seek it out. If it happened it happened. He could take it or leave it.
