[OPEN] Didn't I see this movie?
Characters: Erskine, Bakura, and OPEN
Date: August 10, 2016
Location: Central Sector
Situation: Erskine has been failing to deal with some Bad Things from his past and now it's catching up to him. He's having a bit of a nervous breakdown and, as an Elemental sorcerer, is going to be setting fire to a building in the city as a result. Tag-ins welcome from anyone! Come help put the fire out before someone gets hurt. Come shuffle the kedan away from the burning building. Come yell at this idiot?
Warnings/Rating: Bad headspace. Possible violence. Arson. Vague spoilers for the SP series through the end of book 8; will try to keep specific spoilers to a minimum unless noted otherwise. Please let me know if you're okay with spoilers or not and I can adjust as necessary ♥
He'd asked for help.
That thought echoed small and almost forgotten in the back of Erskine's mind. He'd asked for help. It shouldn't have come to this. Maybe he'd been too late, or maybe he'd been past the point of saving.
The evening was hot--too hot. Everything was hot and dry and the fire spread too quickly, jumping from the awnings of an outdoor cafe to the quaint little building behind it. Fire bloomed a brilliant orange against the skyline, against the deep blue of the sky. Kedan screamed, scrambled to get away, to get their loved ones away. Screamed at him, though from a safe distance.
Who wanted to get too close to the man with fire in his hands and rage in his eyes?
((ooc: Please note that for the sake of continuity/planning/etc, Bakura is going to be the one to take Erskine out of the area, andno one is going to die no kedan are going to die. Otherwise feel free to interact as you see fit, even if it's not with Erskine! Fight fires. Be heroes, do cool stuff. Yell at Erskine. It's all good.))

Xion's reminded vividly of Axel, of their argument the last time she saw him, though she's never seen Axel get anything like this. As he strode towards her, she fought to keep her alarm in check, to not back down, though she does end up taking a step or two backwards.
And then he moved to breeze right past. Not even acknowledge her. She turned, startled and upset. "Wait!" she shouted, hands clenching into fists of their own. If nothing else, just letting him go to do whatever he wanted seemed bad.

He stopped just past her, so that he had to turn his head over a shoulder to get a look at her in his peripheral vision. He didn't turn to face her, didn't look straight at her, as if he didn't want to fully acknowledge her presence or her identity. The rage and the exhaustion were still in control and they didn't care who this was, only that she didn't get in his way.
Only the small voice in the back of his mind reminded him that he couldn't hurt this one. That he shouldn't hurt anyone.
"You... should leave," he said slowly. It was logic and it was reasoning and it was so antithetical to his present state of mind that it made him wince to say it.

"I can't," she said, "There's people hurting here."
The kedan here... they were scared and they were angry. In some ways, maybe she shouldn't be bothering with this. Maybe she should be helping them. But Erskine's odd demeanor, the fire in his hands, and the kedan yelling at him.
Xion may be young, but she's not stupid. She can add. And if Erskine was somehow a cause of all this, leaving him be with how he was acting was not a good idea. She couldn't just walk away.
"What happened?"

One of the kedan in front of Erskine stepped forward, perhaps thinking to use Erskine's distracted state against him. Erskine noticed the man out of the corner of his eye and snapped his fingers, generating a spark, and a ball of flame blossomed in the palm of his hand. Between the spontaneously generating fire--magic--and the look in Ravel's eyes, the kedan quickly backed off and melted back into the crowd that was keeping well away.
What happened....
It was hard to remember, aside from a vague blur in his mind. He hadn't slept in days--though he hadn't let on to Anton. As soon as the adrenaline and the rage wore off he was probably going to collapse.
"Someone said something I didn't appreciate," he said at last, although it wasn't much of an answer. And then he closed his eyes, and when he spoke again some of the rage had bled out of his voice. "I lost it."

She couldn't help the half-stunned, half-incredulous reply that burst out of her. Someone said something. That was all, and now houses were burning and people were screaming and they could be hurt or worse.
... no, that couldn't be all. She refused to believe Erskine, who'd talked with her and helped her and joked with her... she refused to believe he could be capable of something like this for so petty a reason. Either he was holding out on her or... something. There had to be something more.
"What happened?" she demanded again, this time more forcefully.
