The departure of the Chihuelans could be called a relief, the tension seemed gone from the city and the Kedan seemed more accepting than ever of the Foreigners. Though her teaching hadn't been utilized, she was certain that they hadn't seen the last of the Chihuelans and that the Justicar and her forces would be back someday, but for now she was thankful for the rest. Now they could focus on the other problems plaguing Keeliai, such as the cultists and the sinking of Tu Vishan.

"It's fine," she said as she entered. After a brief glance over at Dante's sword, she turned to look at Vergil, "I have something for you." She held out the black case that protected the fine violin.

"You do?" His tone almost as if he doesn't believe her and yet, he closed the door for her then saw the case. "...how did you manage it?" He knows whats in that case, its easy enough to tell, as he took it from her hands. This was one of the few times, he wold ever be seen without gloves, His hands are more frail than Dante's his fingers just a little longer. Identical they may be, but there were tiny differences, like the way Vergil can't hold weight like Dante can.

"It must have cost a great deal." He spoke looking back concerned as he said it. He had an issue with being in debted to people, but this was not something he could refuse. It was a connection to his past he wanted. Opening the case he gave one of those rare brilliant smiles at the beauty of the instrument. He could almost remember the sound of Dante laughing when he had first played as a boy and utterly botched it. They had been so young, and the bad times had not come.
"Thank you." He spoke a touch softer. "It is beautiful." Lifting it out he looked over both the violin and the bow. Looking to see if there was resin for the bow.

"Here."

He would wait until she was sitting before he would start playing for her. Years without playing and he had not lost his touch. Even when he knew nothing, trapped inside Nelo Angelo the sound of the insterment played by others in Mundus' court had found him peace. It was what he needed.

His eyes slowly slid open. "Grazie sorella. Io sono sempre in debito ."

"You owe me nothing," she said simply, "Hearing you play and seeing your smile is enough for me."
How she wished that Dante was here to see his brother smiling.

"I've always been partial to Pachelbel's Canon."

"Is there anything I can do? Maybe tell you something about your lost love? I don't have much to offer aside from knowledge about the long lost past."

"I'm moving on, Vergil," she replied softly, "I can't keep dwelling on someone who is gone. It hurts too much."
no subject
"My apologies, I must have been unknowingly making you suffer it longer. I miss him as well, its easier to admit not, but, it may not mean much. I am here, I will stand by you as long as this world will have me. You're the first real friend I've had since my youth." Yeah he has Jackie and Mikey, but she was first. He wanted nothing more than her friendship, even his soul said the same. He was letting go of his darkness.

Despite the fact that they were twins, she had never seen Dante in Vergil. His soul had always been different and perhaps that is what made the difference to her and her perceptions of him.
"Thank you," she continued, "For being here for me, I'm glad that I could be here for you as well."

Yes he was very different from his twin. As he so often says, he's the mirror and Dante the reflection. After all, they are more than idenitical they are mirror image twins. It was rare but showed in how each was dominate an opposite hand and how their hair curls the same way at the ends. Vergil though first born was the reflection, his heat was on the opposite side.
"It is my honor Valdis. And as long as its in my power I will remain here for you."

"Thank you," she whispered, as she began to pull away, knowing that physical touch wasn't exactly his strong suit.
no subject
"You're welcome."
