Characters: Yuri Lowell and YOU

Situation: Yuri is looking for a Kedan baby's parents and also experiences going back home.
Warnings/Rating: None at the moment.

After finding a Kedan baby at the end of the last month, the first week of January saw Yuri looking for her parents. Despite asking around, and Anton's contacts, the little girl's parents had yet to be found. She was at least in good hands, being well taken care of by both Yuri and Dove. However, as he had planned, Yuri paid a visit to Milyn in the form of exchanging a favor for taking a dreaming trip back home. Starting on the 8th, Yuri wakes up again on the evening of the 10th, having slept for two days. It's then that he returns back to where he and Dove are staying at the guild house in the Sky Sector with Lambert at his side. Thinking about all that he had experienced and trying to process the fact that he'd lived several months in the span of two days.

A - Closed to Duke
Not long after he returns, Yuri is seeking out Duke. Which means going outside the city and into the forests surrounding it, because that's where he knows he'll find the guy who insists on living in seclusion. Lambert is with him of course, able to sniff out the guy far better than Yuri could ever hope to. So it's by the dog's nose that they're heading in the man's direction.

B - Closed to Dove and Sion
Once Yuri had settled in again into every day life on the turtle, things got back to relative normalcy. By this time it's in the middle of the month, just after the fog has finally lifted. A day with fair weather means going out into the city and doing some errands that are much easier to do now without the oppressive fog. Thus Yuri would be seen with Dove, walking with the baby in tow as they took turns holding her. Lambert protectively as he's also taken a liking to the tiny Kedan.

Laundry... well. Laundry time was about to be interrupted.

Once Duke is within sight, Yuri walks over quietly and comes to stand nearby. Just a few feet away. Whether Duke notices him or not, the black haired man addresses him in a neutral tone. Firm yet not betraying what he might be thinking.

"Elucifer's wish."

Duke doesn't act like he noticed him, at the very least.

But after Yuri speaks, Duke does, almost like continuing the sentence. "Protect the world, and peace for all living things."

And he continues his laundry for a bit in silence again, before continuing.

"Because you know his name, I will assume you also know I did a remarkable job focusing on the first half and making a mess of it."

"Yeah," Yuri says before dropping onto the ground to sit next to Duke. The man grimacing a little in the process.

"And I'm still feeling that fight too."

They may have beaten Duke, but he sure gave them a run for their money. Milyn had healed the cuts and bruises, but Yuri was still a little sore.

Duke finally glances over when Yuri sits, and his gaze is... not really sympathetic.

"And thus why I nearly got mugged upon arrival." Yuri, you guys had a dedicated healer and another few healing spells available if he was picking on Estellise.

And he's silent again, focusing on his laundry, although it seems like he's mostly done.

... Then he looks up with a blink. "Which reminds me."

Yeah well considering it took a group of them to take Duke down and stop him from destroying them all...Yuri doesn't have any sympathy for Duke either. Plus if they were keeping score he could also point out that atleast he hadn't arrived almost dead like Yuri had.

But he doesn't mention it and instead looks at Duke. "Hm?"

First clue that perhaps it's something serious is that Duke completely stops with his laundry. He then turns and studies Yuri, and while there is no real expression change... he is a little less tired man interrupted in the middle of washing and more... more unfortunately familiar, some of that same intensity that Yuri had recently faced upon Tarqaron.

"It is on the topic of anger, as I was of no mind to listen with great detail." He pauses, sorting how he wants to word this. "Gusios, Phaeroh, Khroma. Did you ask them?"

Yuri blinked once as he listened, unsure what exactly Duke was getting at.

"If they wanted to become spirits?"

That's the only thing he could really think of. He knew how much Duke cared about the Entelexeia, and he might not entirely like what his answer might be. But then, they had all cared too, and some circumstances had demanded quick action.

Duke inclines his head.

"I remember something of Gusios growing ill with aer, and he was not one for speech even prior to such an event. And Belius fell and the Child learned of the dangers of her power. Those two, I can accept that perhaps there was little talking prior to acquisition of their apatheia. "

Unsaid is 'but the other two. His friend, and Phaeroh, he might not.'

"Right... we didn't get a chance to ask Gusios. Phaeroh was already dying, and we did ask him. I'm sure you know how pleasant he always was, but he did consent."

Yuri paused though as he thought back on the creation of the final spirit.

"Khroma actually warned us about you. She decided to fight us to test our strength, to see if we really could defeat you. In the end she said we could do as we wished with her apatheia."

Duke studies him for a moment longer.

Them sighs, and that intensity fades, and he turns back to his laundry.

"That.. would be like her." He sounds a little drained, or maybe some other tired feeling that you might expect of someone who found out his friend had ... What Khroma did is complicated.

Yuri watches Duke for a few moments, noticing the change in demeanor. He then looks away, focusing his attention on the grass.

"Sorry. I guess you two were close, huh?"

He was sorry that Duke had lost a friend, but he wasn't sorry for what had happened. It was Alexei and Duke's choices that had led to her fate. He hadn't enjoyed fighting or killing the Entelexeia, but the world had been at stake, and they knew that.

"It might not mean much coming from me, but they seemed genuinely happy and content after becoming spirits."

Lets happily blame Alexei for all of this. If Alexei Hadn't Been A Dumbass, so much wouldn't have happened.

"Not as close as... I was with Elucifer." ... And surprise surprise, he's got that tone of 'not going to talk about it more than this'. Yuri isn't surprised he's not over it at all, right. Its not like he tried wiping out humanity for a twisted view of the promise to the dead friend... "... but closer to her than anyone else who survived the war." .. Which is perhaps depressing to think about.

"You like to say that. What is it about you that would negate the sentence." .... Yes, that sure was a topic change. Duke, Yuri's only said that to you twice.

Yuri isn't going to pry any further. He will respect Duke's feelings and privacy. But yeah, ouch. The only person he can think of that could relate to that, would be Raven. Thus he doesn't bat an eye at the subject change.

"We're not exactly best friends," Yuri says bluntly. "And I had a hand in their deaths and conversion. I wouldn't blame you for doubting what I say."

"I've yet to notice you purposefully lie about something of importance." Which, as it is Duke, is basically the requirement for having a conversation with him. Is it about something important? Sure, he'll actually talk.

"I think the statements you make on magic or nature are the ones I would have the greatest difficulty believing."

"Heh, yeah I guess that makes sense."

Yuri knows very little about either of those topics. He never was a very good student, and has absolutely no interest in reading. So... good call there Duke.

Aaand this is where Duke's people skills end.

This feels like the end of a conversation to him, unfortunately, so he just sits there awkwardly for a moment.

Okay.

What does he do now?

Ah, he neglected a person in the clearing. He holds his hand out to Lambert, in case he'd like to sniff. Hello dog, he didn't mean to ignore you.

And that is okay. For as much as Yuri runs his mouth sometimes, he's also okay with not talking.

So as the silence settles in, Yuri just sits there in quiet... solidarity? Camaraderie? Something like that.

Lambert briefly gives Duke's hand a sniff, but that's about it. The dog isn't particularly bothered about being ignored.
