The Awakening (March Catch-All)

Throughout the month of March, Obi-Wan can again be seen all over the place. He's frequently going in and out of Hatal. In fact, he's there on the Lorn level when the earthquake hits on the 13th. For a couple of days after that, he's thoroughly involved with cleaning up the rubble and helping the Kin'nal.

Earlier in the month he felt a disturbance in the Force, the beginning of the awakening of many new Force users in Keeliai. Those who notice anything strange are encouraged to come to him about it. Obi-Wan will be available to talk to anyone at any time.

Also, not long after his network announcement, Obi-Wan hears rumor of a strange creature on the outskirts of Keeliai. A Rakenga without wings or some such. Deciding that this is certainly out of the ordinary, he goes to investigate. What he finds is an old friend. He finds Boga unharmed and still with her saddle and bridle intact.

Throughout the month Obi-Wan can be seen riding this giant shrieking lizard around both cities, after he gets the permits to in Hatal of course. Plus he starts allowing people to ride her and borrow her as a beast of burden. There is a fee of course, as keeping a large animal like a Varactyl around will have expenses. And it's a nice little source of money for the Jedi.

Feel free to find him wherever. He can even be found trying out his new lightsaber prototype built around one of those little crystals found in Hatal. You know, the ones that started the truth virus.

"Have you had any luck with that force trouble you mentioned?"

[hadthehighground]

"Yes, I believe I may know what is going on. Though, I need a bit more proof to be certain. It seems that people here are becoming attuned to the Force who previously were not."

[ten_zero]

"Can you tell me about the force?"

[hadthehighground]

"Certainly."

There was a pause as he considered her for a moment.

"Is there a reason you're coming to me about this?"

[ten_zero]

Bisi fidgeted nervously. She wanted to know more about the Force before she asked. She didn't want to look silly by asking about something that just happened to everyone on the turtle, or if it was just an evolution of her powers, and wind up bothering Obi Wan with it.

"Sort of. I was legitimately curious, you were rather vague in the announcement and... recently I've just been getting strange... senses? Like I might feel someone from a distance away without knowing they are there. I hadn't been able to do that before. I felt it with you while I was entering this square."

"Oh, I see. That's a Jedi trait. I suspect you may be connected to the Force."

It wasn't much of a surprise after what Kylo Ren had told him and what he'd discovered with Aya. It seems that the disturbance had indeed been an awakening to the Force among the people here.

"So what does that mean, exactly? Should I seek medical attention?"

She didn't exactly have the best impression of what happens when you develop supernatural powers.

[hadthehighground]

Obi-Wan chuckled lightly and shook his head.

"No, you're quite safe. The midi-chlorians which have been appearing, and allow us to use the Force, are quite harmless. It's something to embrace, not to fear. In time, you might develop abilities you never had before. Abilities that you can learn to use with the proper training."

Bisi was no stranger to training.

"Where would I get such training?"

[hadthehighground]

"You would need a master to teach you in the ways of the Force. I am one such master."

[ten_zero]

Convenient!

"Are you taking students?"

[hadthehighground]

There is a hesitant pause at that question. Knowing he might be getting in over his head by taking on students.

"I am willing," he says slowly.

"But I must inform you that learning the ways of the Force is no easy process. It requires discipline and commitment. One must devote their life to it if they wish to truly master their abilities."

[ten_zero]

"Hmm." Commitments should be taken seriously then. "I'll need time to think about it, then."

[hadthehighground]

"That would be wise," Obi-Wan agreed. "Jedi like myself generally started training at a young age. Not to mention we have ways and customs associated with learning that you would be unfamiliar with. Not to dissuade you, by any means, but rather I feel you should know what to expect."

Granted not all of their customs could be reasonably applied here but it was just the same. Anyone who wished to learn the ways of the Force could expect a shift in how they lived their lives.

"Alright, thank you.

"So what is Hatal like?"

[hadthehighground]

"It's a very interesting city. Have you not been there yet?"

He certainly wouldn't mind telling her all about it if she hadn't. Though he couldn't imagine why she wouldn't want to see it for herself.

[ten_zero]

"Traveling takes a lot of planning when you can't walk," she admitted.

"It's complicated just making the trip to the college in the sky quarter."

[hadthehighground]

"Ah, yes." She did have a point there. And he strokes his beard thoughtfully for a moment.

"I could help you with that."

[ten_zero]

"Really? I would be very grateful. Anytime I ask about it, someone just tells me I should see it myself, and it's honestly pretty embarrassing to keep repeating the same excuses," she said. The whole thing was a little funny, and embarrassing, and the two emotions were evident in her tone.

[hadthehighground]

Leave it to Obi-Wan to not ignore someone who is in need.

"Do you like animals?" He asks before turning his gaze to the large lizard creature lounging nearby.

"I've been using Boga to travel between Keeliai and Hatal."

[ten_zero]

"I do!" she said, following his gaze to Boga.

"I have several Kubrow on my orbiter. They are very smart and capable companions and warriors. Is Boga very social? Does it get aggressive under certain circumstances or with certain people?" An animal that size that bites you needed to be very careful about.

[hadthehighground]

Obi-Wan laughed lightly as Boga tilted her head at that.

"Not to worry, she's quite tame I assure you. In fact, she saved my life once."

To prove this, the Jedi walked over to her and patted the Varactyl on the beak. Boga chittered and rumbled fondly at him, showing absolutely no hostility whatsoever.

"If you would like to go for a ride, I can take you to Hatal."

"I'll need to make some preparations! Do they accept juulan in Hatal, or should I attempt to purchase some finished goods to trade for local currency?"

"They do, but I'm afraid the exchange rate isn't very good. You might be better off with the later option."
